Nicole Kidman suffers massive make-up fail while posing on red carpet at charity gala in Monte-Carlo
Nicole Kidman had a massive make-up fail at the Monte-Carlo Gala for the Global Ocean, hosted by H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, at the Opera of Monte-Carlo on September 26 in Monaco.
The 52-year-old actress accidentally had very noticeable powder marks which were seen around her eyes as well as on the bridge of her nose. Kidman seemed as though she was unaware of the makeup blunder and looked relaxed as she smiled for pictures at the charity event for ocean conservation.
The phenomenon is usually referred to as 'flashback' and occurs when specific light-reflecting ingredients in face powders seem exaggerated under flash photography.
It is worth mentioning that, aside from the powder marks, Kidman looked flawless as usual.
The event was a star-studded affair with the likes of Gwen Stefani, Uma Thurman and Adriana Lima in attendance.
Kidman sported a stunning black dress designed by Alexandre Vauthier. She chose to accessorize her outfit with earrings by Harry Winston as well as an Omega watch. She finished off her look with a pair of high heels by Aquazzura.
This is not the first time that Kidman has suffered from a makeup fail as she has previously stepped out with noticeable powder marks. During the 2009 premiere of 'Nine', Kidman had very similar powder marks around her eyes and nose.
While giving an interview to Byrdie in July, Kidman got candid on how she maintains her beautiful skin. "The really big thing for me is sun protection," Kidman revealed. She added that being very "outdoorsy", she has to protect her skin and prevent it from getting burnt.
Kidman and her husband Keith Urban are known for their PDA at red carpet events, but Thursday's event saw a slightly different side to the pair. Instead of smiling together, the couple was seen posing solo as Urban kept his distance from his wife. In one of the pictures from the event, Urban looked very dull and glum as he walked past actors Jane Seymour and Andy Garcia.
