Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban ramping up security at ritzy $6.5M estate by installing gatehouse
SOUTHERN HIGHLANDS, AUSTRALIA: Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman are installing a gatehouse and other security measures at their $6.5 million Southern Highlands estate. The couple has reportedly received approval for a $32,450 gatehouse at Bunya Hill Farm.
According to the motion passed by Wingecarribee Council, "Property owners need to have security guards on the premises when they're at home." They also rent temporary access gates for the property and a portable restroom for security officers while they are stationed on the farm.

According to Brett Goff Building Design and Drafting, the proposed design will "feel as though it was a part of the original entry gates," the Daily Mail reports. Nicole and Keith's 45-acre estate in the Southern Highlands features ten original marble fireplaces, a grand staircase of carved cedar, traditional sandstone porches and pressed metal ceilings. Keith and Nicole have added an 18-meter pool, a fitness room, and a full-size tennis court since purchasing the home. Large grassy mounds have also been planted around the house to keep prying eyes away.
Other lavish properties of celeb couple
The couple also owns a series of apartments in the exclusive Latitude building in North Sydney. They initially paid $6 million for the penthouse apartment in 2009 from Celebrity Apprentice contestant Mark Bouris. Three years later, they paid $7 million for the neighboring penthouses, which they then combined to create the mega-residence.
According to Domain in 2021, the Oscar-winning actress paid $2.78 million for an apartment below her penthouse in the upscale skyscraper. The sub-penthouse apartment features two bedrooms, a spacious balcony and stunning views of the harbor through floor-to-ceiling windows that span the entire living area. The chic apartment also offers access to a heated pool, gym, and sauna. It also features a modern kitchen.
When the Hollywood couple is in Sydney, they use their $2.68 million apartment on the 19th floor as a home office. Like their Bunya Hill estate in the Southern Highlands, their four apartments in the Latitude building are all registered under company names. Nicole has not owned a property in her own name since 1993. At that time, she paid $81,000 for her younger sister Antonia to move into a one-bedroom apartment in Mosman.
