Fans convinced Nicki Minaj is pregnant after rapper opens up about 'non-stop peeing' and jalapeno cravings
Nicki Minaj has fuelled rumors that she is expecting her first child with husband Kenneth Petty after a Q&A session with fans on Twitter. The 37-year-old took to Twitter on Thursday, May 7, to engage with her fans when she almost convinced them that she is pregnant.
During the session when one of the rapper’s fan asked whether she has been cooking during the Covid-19 lockdown, the Grammy nominee said, “Absolutely. Steak. Shrimp. Plus my famous cheeseburgers. So good. Been really having red meat cravings then salad cravings with extra jalapeños. Ordered Chkn [sic] nachos that didn’t come w/ jalapeños. Who does that? Wow.”
After this, another fan threw a question at her asking if she is experiencing morning sickness. To which, the ‘Anaconda’ rapper said: “Lmao. No throwing up. But nausea and peeing non-stop. Omg, what do u think this means guys???? Lmaooooooooooo.” She dropped another hint when another person asked: “'Can you post a baby bump pic Queen?” The ‘Tusa’ singer tweeted back, “Yea in a couple of months. The world ain’t ready yet” followed by a smiley emoji, along with a winking kiss face.
However, this was not the first time when Minaj left people wondering if she is pregnant. In February 2020, she posted a cryptic video showing her husband Petty rubbing her belly. In an Instagram video, she wore a bodycon dress as she sat beside 41-year-old Petty, the camera focusing directly on her stomach. Though in the clip, neither of the two said anything but comments instantly poured in asking the couple whether they were trying to give viewers a hint of something to come.
The Tobago-born rapper married Petty in October 2019. Petty is a registered sex offender in New York state since 1995 after being convicted for the attempted rape of a 16-year-old girl. He was also convicted of manslaughter in 2002, which led him to seven years in jail.
Minaj and Petty dated as teens and then reconnected again in 2018. She also defended her then-boyfriend in December 2018 for his attempted rape charge, saying: “He was 15, she was 16... in a relationship. But go awf, Internet. Y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.”
Three months prior to their wedding, one of the ‘Pound The Alarm’ rapper’s songs left fans wondering if she was pregnant with Petty’s child. “He the Clyde to my Bonnie, ’bout to walk down the aisle and be a mommy. Ooh, I remember when I cried like, ‘Why me?’ / Now I wouldn’t exchange my life for Armani,” Minaj rapped in “Zanies and Fools” in July 2019.
A source also revealed in December 2018 that Minaj “always wanted to become a mother”. “Nicki is absolutely head over heels in love with Kenny. She fell hard and fast. She hasn’t smiled this much in a long time."
“Nicki has always wanted to become a mother, and that’s something she and Kenny have discussed. She really believes that he has changed since his troublesome days, but some of her friends are still a bit wary,” the source went on.
