'What a true blessing': Fans in 'tears' as Damar Hamlin reunites with teammates after cardiac arrest
ERIE COUNTY, NEW YORK: Damar Hamlin reunited with his teammates 12 days after he suffered cardiac arrest and collapsed during a game against Cincinnati Bengals on January 2. Surprised fans welcome the Bills safety after a picture of him visiting the team's facilities in Orchard Park was shared by Bills linebacker Matt Milano in an Instagram Story on Saturday, January 14. The picture posted is captioned with an angel emoji.
Hamlin is seen smiling wide, greeting his teammates, and standing up on his own among them. Following the tragic on-field incident, the game was suspended for the evening and Hamlin was immediately taken to the University of Cincinnati Hospital. The collapse took place when the player got on his feet after he tackled Tee Higgins and then stood up. In the next few seconds, the Buffalo Bills safety passed out. A week after his treatment at UCMC, he was then transferred to the Buffalo General hospital.
