J J Perry, the maker of Netflix's 'Day Shift,' is a well-known stuntman and second-unit director in Hollywood, having worked on movies such as 'Shadow and Bone' TV series, 'Fast and Furious' films, and several 'John Wick' flicks. Just like his other movies, the finale of his directorial debut offers the possibility for potential sequels as well.

The narrative centers around Bud Jablonski, who lives in the San Fernando Valley (Jamie Foxx). The rest of the world, including his estranged wife and daughter (Zion Broadnax), believes he owns a pool-cleaning service. In truth, he is one of California's most skilled vampire hunters. When his ex-wife Jocelyn (Meagan Good) reveals her intention to relocate to Florida to deal with mounting bills, Bud persuades her to grant him a few days to collect the funds required for his daughter Paige's school tuition and braces. However, Audrey (Karla Souza), an old and powerful vampire, finds Bud's murder of her daughter and intends to make him pay. Starring Jamie Foxx, the vampire action thriller 'Day Shift,' seems like the preferred summer blockbuster, replete with gore and vampire brutality. Foxx is joined by an impressive ensemble cast that includes Dave Franco, Meagan Good, Karla Souza, Snoop Dogg, and others. Here's all you need to know about the 'Day Shift' climax. *SPOILERS AHEAD.*

What happens in the climax of 'Day Shift'?

Bud goes for Audrey after she kidnaps his ex-wife and their children at the end of 'Day Shift.' He joins forces with Seth (Dave Franco) and Heather (Natasha Liu Bordizzo) to finally bring her down, and Big John (Snoop Dogg) also shows up for the confrontation. Bud eventually defeats Audrey by decapitating her with his handy silver wire. He rescues his family, and Jocelyn reconsiders moving to Florida. She also knows Bud is now a vampire hunter, and the two appear to be reconciling.

What becomes of Seth in the end?

Audrey most certainly transforms Seth into a vampire. Seth becomes an Uber vampire. This is why he lives despite Bud's decapitation. He is first quite unpredictable and even attempts to attack unintentionally. However, he swiftly regains control and joins the night shift attack against Audrey and her underlings. He really rests his head on his shoulders and gradually cures himself, with the help of Bud's other vampire companion, Heather and her extra blood bags. While Bud is fighting Audrey, Seth and Heather are fighting Klaus (Oliver Masucci), Audrey's right-hand vampire. They ultimately rip Klaus' hands off, and Seth then murders him. After that, he assists Bud in dealing with Seegar (Eric Lange). When Seegar informs Seth that he will not receive the desired promotion, Seth announces that he now chooses to work in the field. Given recent events, that is most certainly the wisest decision for everyone.

By the end of the film, Seth is alive (or as alive as a vamp can be). Bud refers to Seth and Heather as "good vampires." And now Seth looks to be a member of Bud's vampire-hunting squad rather than your typical union member.

Is Big John truly dead?

Big John seems to face death by detonating a bomb vest and killing a swarm of vampires attempting to ambush him and Bud. However, he manages to survive. He climbs out of a manhole just as Bud and his family drive by in the last seconds of the film. As Big John is portrayed by Snoop Dogg, he lights a joint and walks away cheerfully. Therefore, no, he isn't dead!

With Big John eventually making it, even though Bud and the rest of them thinking otherwise, does leave room for a possible spin-off. But viewers will have to wait to see, as the network will only green light the project if the first installment brings in the numbers.
