Hollywood icon Ned Beatty, who appeared in more than 160 films, breathed his last on Sunday, June 13. He was 83. In his long and illustrious career, the actor also scored two Academy Award nominations along with two Emmy Award nods. Beatty was best known for his role of Bobby Trippe in the 1972 movie ‘Deliverance’ and the role of a lawyer Delbert Reese in 1975's ‘Nashville’. The late actor will also be remembered for his brilliant portrayal of Detective Stanley Bolander in the TV series ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’.

The ‘Toy Story 3’ actor died of natural causes at his Los Angeles home, as revealed by his daughter Blossom Beatty to The Hollywood Reporter. The Kentucky native made his stage debut at the age of 19 when he appeared in 'Wilderness Road', an outdoor-historical pageant located in Berea, Kentucky. Unfortunately, a few other celebrities such as 'Wahlburgers' fame Henry ‘Nacho’ Laun, ‘School of Rock’ actor Kevin Clark, ‘Love Boat’ actor Gevin McLeod and ‘The Wire’ actor Robert Hogan also lost their lives recently.

Who were Ned Beatty’s wives?

Apart from his professional life, Beatty also made headlines earlier for his personal life. The Drama Desk Award winner was married four times. His first wife was Walta Chandler. They got married in the year 1959 but got divorced in 1968 after having four children — Douglas Beatty, twins Charles and Lennis Beatty and Walter Beatty. The renowned actor then got married to actress Belinda Rowley from 1971 to 1979. The couple together had two children namely John Beatty and Blossom Beatty.

After getting divorced for the second time, Ned Beatty again got lucky and married his third wife Dorothy Adams "Tinker" Lindsay in 1979. The duo was soon blessed with two children namely Thomas Beatty and Dorothy Beatty, born in 1980 and 1983 respectively. Beatty and Lindsay lasted together for 20 years before splitting for good in 1998. Following his divorce, Beatty then walked down the aisle for the fourth time a year later. The ‘Just Cause’ actor married actress Sandra Johnson on November 20, 1999.

Ned Beatty found true love in Sandra Johnson

After getting divorced three times, Beatty finally found his true love in Sandra Johnson. The actor was married to Sandra until his death. The couple happily lived in California and also maintained a residence in Karlstad, Minnesota. Sandra is an actress who is best known for her work in the 2013 film ‘Baggage Claim’ alongside Beatty.

The late actor also made several red carpet appearances with his wife in the last few years. Sandra did not have a distinguished career like her husband as she was more inclined towards household duties. Beatty, who already had eight children from his previous marriages, did not have a child with Sandra.
