Jones, who is the mother of three children Uche, Kayin, and Clara, shared details of her trip with fans and gushed about how it "rejuvenated" her.
The NBC host is popular for her on-air banter with co-hosts Al Roker and Craig Melvin. She embarked on her solo trip after sending her children off to summer camp and posted several pics and videos of herself enjoying "self-care" and "solo time." As the co-host of ‘Today’ and mother of three children, Jones manages a busy and fulfilling schedule. Her responsibilities as a parent are a juggling act that she handles with grace and determination. Earlier last week, she shared on her Instagram her packed day as she attended her husband Uche Ojhe's cousin’s wedding. Although she looked stunning, her caption stated her ability as a devoted mother, “Day one of two days of marriage ceremonies for my husbands cousin … I spent my whole day getting the kids ready … and had minutes left for myself. I’ve been traveling so much lately I just found spare makeup and lashes in my bag … good times.”
Jones had been looking forward to a solo trip for a long while. Fans showered their love on her devotion and hard work and proclaimed she was an "inspiration" as she reflected on her real self and posted a snap of herself in a makeup-free, 'gray hair’ look. Jones filled in her followers about her solo trip and how she enjoys her own company. She captioned the post, “I remember the first time I went to the movies by myself; it was several years ago when I was having vocal issues and it was frustrating and tough for me to talk outside of work. That was a moment. I walked out of the theater thinking … “wow, I enjoyed my own company.” Fast forward to this week. I took my first “destination” trip alone. Only a couple of days by myself. You know what I learned? I still enjoy my own company. ☺️ I didn’t have to talk when I didn’t feel like it. I sat and ate dinner without a phone or a book to offer a distraction. Just my thoughts. I hiked. Meditated. Took so many pictures of the sky. Admired Gods handiwork. Lots of swimming. Lots of silence. It was transformative. I am rejuvenated. I swear I discovered new gray hairs, even a birthmark I forgot about on my chin. Until next time. ❤️”
