The four-year-old son of Naya Rivera has reunited with his father Ryan Dorsey after his star mother disappeared on Wednesday, July 8. The 33-year-old 'Glee' actress is missing and now feared dead after she disappeared from Lake Piru in South California. Rivera along with her son Josey went for boating and swimming on July 8 afternoon after renting a pontoon boat on the lake. However, she never returned while the boy was found alone sleeping on the boat by another boater.

According to Page Six, after the tragic incident, Josey has now finally united with his father as he was seen in Dorsey's arm as the two left the home of Rivera’s sister, model Nickayla Rivera, in Valencia, California. Dorsey, who married Rivera in 2014 before getting a divorce in 2018, has joint custody of the young child. It has been said that the 36-year-old actor was distraught by his ex-wife’s disappearance. He also reportedly did not answer any questions, saying he had to care for Josey.

Dorsey’s friends said that the actor had “no idea” that Rivera had taken their son to Lake Piru, near Santa Clarita on Wednesday, where the boy was found alone in his life-jacket. Josey told detectives that “he had been swimming with his mother and that he got back in the boat and her mum didn't”. An unnamed housemate of Dorsey said that the ‘Blood Father’ star left immediately for the lake as soon as he heard about his son being found alone. “Ryan headed up there as soon as their son was found to look after him. He was gone by the time I got home Wednesday. Naya has been in LA working but I don’t know where she has been living. None of us know any more than what is being reported at this time,” the housemate said.

He added: “Naya hadn’t been in contact with him. She didn’t tell him what she was doing. He had no idea. It’s a horrible circumstance and we’re hoping for the best.”

Meanwhile, police officials involved in the search for Rivera said that her body may never be recovered. Since more than 24 hours have passed since the search operation was launched, the Ventura County Sheriff's office said on Thursday, July 9, that they were presuming Rivera have drowned and the effort to find her has been classified as a "search and recovery operation" in which around 100 personnel are involved.

“If the body is entangled on something beneath the water, it may never come back up. There's no way to really say. We're putting our best foot forward to try and locate her, we're using all the assets that are available to us, we're using technology like sonar,” Ventura Country Sheriff Sergeant Kevin Donoghue said. Donoghue also shared that the experts involved in the search know the lake “inside and out” and the police are “relying on their expertise to help us in that endeavor. We're going to do everything that we can to find her."

While reports stated that risky conditions have made the search effort more difficult for rescuers. Officer Chris Dyer said the depth of the lake is not the same everywhere, as it goes from between 50-60ft to 4ft over a short distance.
