Is Ryan Murphy canceled? It appears as if people are furious with the ‘Glee’ star for remaining quiet about college funds for his former co-star Naya Rivera’s son 5-year-old son Josey Hollis Dorsey. #RyanMurhyIsOverParty started trending on March 9, with social media users claiming that the actor “lied” about helping Rivera’s family at the time of her death only to gain popularity. What led to the viral trend was the post shared by Rivera’s father George Rivera on Twitter, in which he has dragged Murphy for his “broken promises.”

Retweeting an old post from his timeline, which spoke about the ‘Glee’ team setting up college funds for Josey, he wrote, “they're setting up a college fund for josey and i know most of us disliked them most of the time for their writing choices or anything else related to the show, but i have so much respect for them.”

Rivera's father exposes Murphy

Naya was born to George and Yolanda Rivera. Her father is said to have worked various IT jobs, including positions at Disney and the Universal Music Publishing Group. Reports suggest he is Puerto Rican-American.

He has been in the news following his latest tweets. In response to an old tweet, praising 'Glee' stars for helping Naya's family, the late actress' father wrote, "Everyone needs to know what Ryan Murphy really did ... or didn’t do !!! I’m about to blow up this story .... and make sure he’s knows that I know ...."

He wrote in another tweet, "When you are part of the Hollywood elite, some people treat others as they are “less than” .... vocalize a good game , but it’s as shallow as the sets on stage , that they create. Promises made in public, only to fade with time and excuses .... even in a unexplainable tragedy ..." Adding to the above tweet he wrote, "Broken Promises..... fake outrage .... hollow gestures ..... no phone call"

'Glee' creators 'committed' to funds

Ryan Murphy and other 'Glee' actors had announced in a collective statement following Naya's death, "Our hearts go out to her family, especially her mom, Yolanda, who was a big part of the Glee family and her son Josey. The three of us are currently in the process of creating a college fund for the beautiful son Naya loved most of all."

However, there has been no update on the same in a long time and George decided to bring it to public attention, which gave rise to the #RyanMurphyIsOverParty, as a significant number of people slammed the actor for not keeping his promises.

After Geroge accused Murphy of false promises, the actor's representative told Entertainment Tonight that the ‘Glee’ creators have been in contact with the actress’ estate and that they are working towards creating a college fund for Josey. The statement read, "Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Ian Brennan have committed to fund and create a college fund for her child through the Naya Rivera Estate Trust, and have been in repeated conversations with the appropriate executors of her estate.” George is yet to respond to Murphy’s statement.

One tweeted, "the riveras do NOT deserve this. what ryan has done is beyond awful and cannot be forgotten about. #JusticeForRiveraFamily #ryanmurphyisoverparty" Another added, "I knew ryan murphy’s piece of sh*t ass wasn’t gonna do sh8t. They treated Naya like shit the whole time she was on glee. Why not keep their mouths shut instead of promising shit they weren’t planning to actually deliver on????"

However, some of them have expressed that Murphy needs to be given a chance to explain himself as his intention was to help Naya's family. One tweeted, "i get that as well and i agree but like i said, when mr. rivera tweeted he clearly asked us to help him out. a lot of it is based on assumptions which is wrong but i don’t think that being angry with ryan murphy is crossing a line unless you’re directly attacking him-"
