On April 15, National Laundry Day provides an opportunity to evaluate our laundry routines and encourage our children to develop good ones. This day has been observed to highlight the significance of cleaning and maintaining clean clothing. It's also a fantastic time for everyone to unwind from their hectic schedules by handling laundry activities like sorting clothing, washing them in hot or cold water, drying them in the sun, or using an energy-efficient dryer.

It's time for the lazy ones to get together.

History

The act of washing, cleaning, drying, and ironing garments and other materials is known as laundry. This is a good mental image, but it does not represent the entirety of the laundry. It has existed since the invention of clothing. Since time immemorial, there have been many different ways for humans to do laundry. Using a stick or pounding dirt against a rock in the river was one of the earliest methods to do laundry. Stains and grime were removed by scrubbing fabric with soap over a washboard's ribs. Clothes were also washed by humans in tubs that were turned by hand. The first automatic washing machine was eventually made possible by these tubs. Alva J Fisher received the first electric washing machine patent from the United States in 1910.

Cleaning is one more cycle we've used to clean our garments. Because so many clothes are now wash-and-wear, dry cleaning is becoming less and less affordable for households. The times we do our laundry have also changed. To dry clothes before commercial washers and dryers, they were hung on a line. While a lot of people still line dry their clothes, very few have clotheslines. Additionally, people washed their linens and clothing more frequently the poorer they were. Wash day was typically on a Monday, as noted in several books and nursery rhymes, and once a week was fairly typical.

Here are 5 ways to celebrate this day:

Do laundry

To honor the holiday, you should wash a load of laundry on April 15 if you enjoy doing it. If you prefer to reuse clothing, today is the ideal time to eliminate laundry from your to-do list.

Change your favorite detergent brand

Despite the abundance of options available to us, we prefer comfort brands. Attempt another brand of cleanser or cleansing agent to check whether your garments can get cleaner and more fragrant.

Organize a laundry party

Make it a party by inviting your friends over! Play some music, provide some light refreshments, and make doing the laundry a fun activity.

Make it fun

Set up a clock and see who can fold their garments the quickest! Alternatively, see how many garments you can sort in one minute. Have some fun and be competitive.

Go outside

Bring your laundry outside and hang it to dry in the sun and fresh air. You will not only save money on power, but you will also get some fresh air.
