Many idols have reportedly tested positive for Covid-19 recently, despite following the guidelines for safety against the ongoing pandemic. South Korea had the pandemic relatively under control and after months of having activities suspended, K-pop fans were hoping to have live concerts that they could attend. But it seems like that is not going to happen anytime soon.

With the sudden influx of Covid-19 cases, fans are worried for the health and well-being of their favourite artists as more and more idols are testing positive. On September 2, it was announced that HYBE’s rookie group Enhypen was affected severely with five out of seven members from the group testing positive. Back in August, members of BTOB, Ateez, EXO, and more K-pop idols also tested positive for the virus.

N.Flying members test positive

On September 3, FNC Entertainment, the agency of N.Flying, announced that three out of five members from the boy band had tested positive for Covid. According to the agency, the three members had started showing symptoms on September 2 and had performed a self-test kit. The results of this self-test were positive for all three members. After this, a PCR (gene-amplification) test was performed immediately on these members, and the diagnosis was confirmed as positive on September 3.

The two remaining members, Kim Jaehyun and Cha Hoon tested negative with the initial self-test kit but as a precautionary measure, as most of the members of the group have tested positive, these members have immediately proceeded with a PCR test and are waiting for their results.

Members quarantined

The agency announced that Seunghyeop, Hoeseung, and Dongseong are currently self-isolating and taking necessary measures according to the guidelines of the quarantine authorities. In their statement, the agency also added that other members of the group and staff have been informed about this and any individual that may have interacted with the three members have been advised to undergo tests and confirm if they are Covid-free or not.
