Update: The Charlotte Hornets forward, 24, was hit with domestic violence and child abuse charges in Los Angeles Tuesday, July 19, after he allegedly attacked wife Mychelle Johnson in front of their two children last month.

“Domestic violence creates physical, mental and emotional trauma that has a lasting impact on survivors,” Los Angeles District Attorney Gascón said in a statement on July 19 announcing the charges. “Children who witness family violence are especially vulnerable and the impact on them is immeasurable. Mr. Bridges will be held accountable for his actions and our Bureau of Victim Services will support the survivors through this difficult process.”

The NBA player has been charged with one felony count of injuring a child’s parent and two felony counts of child abuse, prosecutors said. Bridges had turned himself in a day after police arrived at the home and was released from jail on $130,000 bail, police said.

Professional basketball player Miles Bridges was arrested by the Los Angeles Police for felony domestic violence on Wednesday, June 29. Mychelle Johnson, Bridges' wife and mother of their two children, has spoken up about the 24-year-old NBA player's alleged abuse and posted images of the bruises she suffered.

"I hate that it has come to this but I can't be silent anymore. I've allowed someone to destroy my home, abuse me in every way possible and traumatize our kids for life. I have nothing to prove to the world, but I won't allow anyone who could do something so horrible to have no remorse and paint a picture of something I'm not," Johnson captioned the post.

"I won't allow the people around him to continue to silence me and continue to lie to protect this person. It's unethical, it's immoral, it's truly SICK. It hurts my heart because I've always had hope, and so much love, and as scary as this is for me to do it's time I stand up for myself," she continued.

The post added, "I won't be silent to protect others anymore because I value myself and my kids more than anyone's image'.... a fractured nose, wrist, torn eardrum, torn muscles in my neck from being choked until I went to sleep, and a severe concussion. I don't need sympathy, I just don't want this happening to anyone else, I just want this person to get help, my kids deserve better. That's all I want."

Johnson concluded by saying, "It hurts, everything hurts, this situation hurts, most importantly I'm scared and hurting for my kids who were witness to everything. Please respect my family's privacy and stop with the disgusting rumors and allegations." She also attached a hospital report, which included horrifying details. "Adult victim of physical abuse by male partner; Assault by strangulation; Brain concussion; Closed fracture of nasal bone; Contusion of rib; Multiple bruises; Strain of neck muscle," the diagnosis reads.

Johnson also attached a video of their son, Ace Miles, talking about the incident and how Bridges assaulted her during their physical altercation. "Daddy choked Mommy," the child says in the video. He further added that Bridges was being mean to Johnson in their fight again and that he threw her phone out of the window. Ace also said that he smacked his father because he wasn't being nice.

According to TMZ, law enforcement stated that a woman, who has now been identified as Johnson, was in an argument with Bridges that turned physical. Police were called to the scene, but Bridges was gone by the time cops arrived and the woman required medical attention. The basketball player was arrested by the LAPD after he turned himself in the next day, on June 29.

Bridges' basketball team, Charlotte Hornets, issued a statement saying, "The Charlotte Hornets are aware of the situation involving Miles Bridges. We are in the process of gathering additional information. We will have no further comment at this time." Bridges was released on bond and is set to appear in court on July 20.
