'Rape of 2 Coreys': Glitch at premiere leaves many disappointed but some say it's not Corey Feldman's fault
Corey Feldman's purported exposé of Hollywood pedophiles titled '(My) Truth: The Rape of 2 Coreys' faced a barrage of technical issues on Monday. Online viewers were left frustrated due to multiple delays and the live stream eventually being canceled altogether after the site crashed.
The screening, which was slated to begin at 8 pm PDT, was delayed after their servers were allegedly "hacked" by those who didn't want the film to go public. As a result, viewers, who had waited for months and paid $20 a pop to stream the video, were left disappointed after they were unable to log into the website to watch the film.
Feldman told the audience at the Directors Guild Theater (previously touted as a "secret location" where the live screening would be hosted) that his team needed some time to fix website issues. They duly began screening the film at the time but stopped in 15 minutes as the website was still down.
A considerate Feldman then asked the audience if they wanted to continue regardless of the website status while his team tried to fix the problem. The audience voted to keep going and were able to watch the entire film.
However, viewers at home appeared to be hugely disappointed with the botched premiere. Some fans bemoaned how they were unable to watch the documentary after waiting for months on end, while others complained the film did not live up to the hype after it essentially offered no new information in terms of revelations.
"Any update? We were told 15 min... it has been 45... I get it some things are out of your control, however, people have to work... it is almost 11 pm in the midwest and midnight on the East coast. We stayed up to watch, we love you Corey but this was done completely wrong," one wrote.
"With all due respect, those of us on the east coast have a right to be annoyed. We have to work in the morning. I hope they get it up and running soon or at least allow us to play it back at a later date instead of the 'one time only'," another added.
However, several of Feldman's supporters came out in his defense, saying it wasn't his fault that the website was hacked and that the servers crashed due to the massive incoming traffic.
"Not a scam & I don't want my $ back. Heartbroken 4 Corey right now. I'm sorry it didn't turn out the way you expected, but turning on Corey, making jokes & memes is disgusting, disrespectful & very hurtful! Then every1 wonders y victims don't want 2 come 4ward.. smh #MYTRUTHDOC," one commented.
"#MyTruthDoc has been prevented from streaming due to hackers, this is not a scam, people have seen the full documentary, it exists and we all will be able to see it eventually. #MyTruth #ISTANDWITHCOREY #SUPPORTCOREY," another chimed in.
"Everyone making jokes about being raped by Feldman of their $20 - f*****g stop it. You’re not edgy, you’re not funny. Absolutely not appropriate given the context. #MYTRUTHDOC," a third added.
'(My) Truth: The Rape of Two Coreys' is now scheduled to air for a second streaming at 12 pm PDT March 10 on mytruthdoc.com.
