HOUSTON, TEXAS: The infant daughter of murdered Texas mother Heidi Broussard who went missing along with her mother on December 12  and was later found safe inside a house in Jersey Village, Harris County, northwest of Houston, was permanently handed over to the 33-year-old woman's fiancé, Shane Carey, who was once accused of physically abusing the mother.

The Houston Child Protective Services returned the three-week-old Margot Carey to her father's house near Austin on Monday, December 23.

The CPS also dropped its application to take temporary custody of the child after the body of the mother was discovered stuffed inside a car trunk outside the same home on December 19.

Pictures obtained by Daily Mail showed three-week-old Margot Carey back in her father’s arms, dressed in a red onesie with white polka dots.

Earlier, the police arrested and charged Broussard's friend Magen Fieramusca, 33, on Friday, December 20, with two counts of kidnapping and one count of tampering with a corpse.

It was also reported that the victim repeatedly tried to leave her fiancé Carey and accused him of physically assaulting her.

Broussard, before she went missing, also sent pictures of her bruised and battered face to her friend, Cliff Nolte, claiming that her fiancé allegedly attacked her in a fit of rage over her plan to leave him. In the photos, bruises to her arms and legs can clearly be seen.

"Shane grabbed me really hard because I tried to stop him because he stole Zeus [their dog] last last [sic] cause I told him I couldn't stay," Broussard wrote at the time.

"You need to call the cops on him Heidi. You can't keep letting this happen," Nolte replied at the time.

Carey was forced to publicly deny involvement in her disappearance after people on social media started accusing him of killing his bride-to-be when her body was discovered.

After the police found no 911 calls from Broussard's home and verified that Carey had no publicly-recorded convictions, he was cleared of any links to her murder.

So far, no one has been charged in Broussard's murder.
