Tyson shared that the process of coming out to herself was not without its difficulties. With the support of her therapist, she underwent three sessions that allowed her to gradually embrace her true identity. She expressed the fear and anxiety she experienced, worried that acknowledging herself as a woman would be met with denial and rejection.

She said, “It was hard for me to say that because I was so scared of saying I am a woman and then instantly hearing no you’re not.” This was an internal battle for Tyson which she constantly faced while putting on a brave front for the public. She also talked about her struggles with self-hatred and how she overcame it by “listening to what her body wanted”.

Throughout her interview, Tyson delved into her struggles with self-hatred, bravely revealing the difficulties she faced in accepting and embracing herself. However, she found strength in listening to her body's desires and needs, which ultimately helped her navigate through the challenging journey of self-discovery.
