GREENVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA: MrBeast, the renowned YouTube King with a massive following of over 158 million subscribers, has been garnering support from his fans for his protest against Twitch. Now, it seems Elon Musk has also joined the fold.

MrBeast aka Jimmy Donaldson fearlessly utilizes his platform to rally his vast fanbase for support. He aims to persuade the executives at Twitch to reconsider their recent alterations to policies regarding branded and sponsored content.

'I’ll bring streaming to Twitter'

MrBeast recently took to Twitter to express his opinions on the newly implemented guidelines, which he said was the most "funniest thing" he had encountered throughout the year. In a now-deleted tweet, he playfully hinted at the possibility of streaming on a competing platform, even though he does not identify as a gamer, simply to "spite them."

In another tweet, MrBeast wrote, "Hey @Twitch how about instead of handicapping what creators make, you help them make more? Seems more logical."

Twitch recently implemented significant changes to its branded and sponsored content policy, including a complete prohibition on 'burned-in' video, audio, or display ads. Additionally, the platform has imposed strict limitations on the size of on-stream brand logos or overlays, restricting them to occupy a mere 3% of the screen. These adjustments, set to be enforced from July 1, severely constrain streamers' creative space, particularly affecting sponsored streams, which constitute a substantial source of revenue for many content creators.

The policy revisions have triggered a wave of negative feedback, with prominent streamers like Asmongold voicing strong opposition and even calling for a boycott of the platform. The discontent stems from the recognition of the detrimental impact these changes may have on streamers' ability to monetize their content effectively.

While the alterations to Twitch's policies are unlikely to directly affect MrBeast, given his infrequent streaming activities, he empathizes with fellow content creators who will be impacted by these changes.

Elon Musk also chimed in to show support for MrBeast and Twitch streamers. He wrote, "I’ll bring streaming to Twitter don’t worry!"

'I think Twitch wants to die'

In addition to Elon Musk, numerous others joined the conversation and swiftly offered their support to MrBeast.

One user wrote, "Twitch works really hard to make the worst decisions possible." Another said, "I think twitch wants to die 🪦." Someone else wrote, "The url has "won't exist 12 months from now" written all over it."
