'Morning Joe' host Joe Scarborough slammed for defending President Joe Biden and the 'sleep narrative' from Maui
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: ‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough took a dig at right-wing and conservative outlets on X, over their coverage of President Joe Biden's visit to Maui, Hawaii, following the devasting wildfires.
Scarborough specifically mentioned the “sleep narrative” in his tweet.
Early on August 22, NBC News reported, “Conservative pundits used low-quality video on social media platforms Tuesday to spread a false claim that President Joe Biden fell asleep during a memorial for Maui wildfire victim.”
Scarborough’s tweet focussed on the positive response from local residents upon the arrival of Biden. However, the ‘Morning Joe’ host received a considerable amount of backlash for the same.
Joe Scarborough expresses frustration over “sleep narrative”
‘Morning Joe’ host Joe Scarborough shared a news article in The Maui News titled, “Residents hope president’s visit makes impression on need for aid.”
Scarborough then tweeted, “Note the overwhelmingly positive response from local residents in the Maui paper and the stark contrast compared to the shock opera nonsense pushed by Trumpy outlets today."
He added, "Same with the BS “sleep” narrative that created an alternate reality.”

A purported video of Biden allegedly falling asleep is being circulated on the internet, by the likes of Sean Hannity from Fox News.
Scarborough believes this coverage has created an “alternative reality.” However, not everyone seems to agree with him.

Internet rages against Joe & Joe
Some people believe that the positive response was a “campaign strategy” as a person tweeted, “They only allowed “selected citizens” in. They removed the opposition which seems to also be the campaign strategy.”
