NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Less than a week ago, 'Morning Joe' host Joe Scarborough received backlash on the internet after taking a dig at The Wall Street Journal and their alleged "capitulation to Trumpism".

On Wednesday, August 9, 2023, morning, Scarborough took to Twitter yet again, citing another article from The Wall Street Journal, only this time, it was about federal revenue. Scarborough called the opinion piece by the editorial board a "joke".

In addition, Scarborough also made claims about how Donald Trump had the "worst fiscal record" of any president in the history of United States. The internet hasn’t taken lightly to these remarks and Scarborough has been on the receiving end of a severe backlash yet again.

‘Trump had the worst fiscal record’

The ‘Morning Joe’ host expressed his anguish against The Wall Street Journal opinion piece titled “Washington Stages a Peacetime Fiscal Blowout.”

In this tweet about this piece as well as former president Trump, Scarborough wrote, "What a joke. @WSJopinion blames Biden for debt, never mentioning that Donald Trump had the worst fiscal record of any president in US history. Stop embarrassing yourselves, WSJ. You know Republicans have a shameful fiscal record this century.”

Scarborough has often made his anti-Trump stance evident through ‘Morning Joe’ as well as his Twitter. For which, he has received backlash on the internet, especially when it is about the American economy.

‘You have a knack for pinning everything on Trump’

People on the internet have responded to Scarborough’s tweet where he called the opinion piece a ‘joke’ and tweeted, “Yes, yes you are a joke," while another wrote, "You’re the joke Joe. And your show is the punchline."

Some have also pointed out that both Republicans and Democratics have been responsible for the debt as one person wrote, “Quit acting like both parties aren’t responsible for the massive debt." Another said, “It's definitely Biden's debt.”

Some have also labeled Scarborough a "sellout" as one wrote, “Putting aside your comment on the article, what is it like to be an utter sellout? how does that feel?”

Scarborough was also been called a ‘so-called journalist’ who could be responsible for Trump’s re-election as one social media user said, “Well, Joe, since you have a knack for pinning everything on Trump, maybe this evens out the coverage a bit. The media’s constant and exaggerated Trump bashing might just end up securing his re-election, and so-called journalists like you deserve some credit for that.”
