JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA: Morgan Wallen returned to the stage on Thursday, May 4, one week after abruptly canceling his concert in Oxford, Mississippi. Wallen provided a health update and apologized to fans for canceling a previous show before his performance at VyStar Veterans Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida.

“What’s up, everybody? I just wanted to let you know I am in Jacksonville, we are going to play a show tonight — and all weekend. I wouldn’t say I’m 100% but I’m doing a lot better,” Wallen said in an Instagram Story which was filmed at the venue.

Wallen continued, asking for an apology from the 60,000 fans that had come to Oxford, Mississippi's Vaught-Hemingway Stadium for his heading performance on April 23.  “And to everyone in Oxford, I just wanted to reiterate how sorry I am for the way that went down,” he added. The fans were upset when it was revealed that Wallen would not be playing after openers HARDY, Ernest, and Bailey Zimmerman had already begun their sets.

'We’re working on a rescheduled date'

Morgan said that they are working on rescheduling the event but can not confirm the dates as of now, “I thought I was going to be good to go and I just wasn’t. We’re working on a rescheduled date and we are close to having it, I just don’t have the exact one yet." Wallen said that as soon as the dates are confirmed he will let the fans know about it. "So as soon as I do, I’ll let you know. I appreciate you all and I can’t wait to get out onstage tonight. Love you all, and thanks for all the support always. God bless you, see you soon.”

Fans in MS’s Vaught-Hemingway Stadium had been quite upset after they suddenly came to know that Wallen wasn't performing his set on April 23. A disturbing message on the screen displayed moments before he was anticipated on the stage: “Ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, Morgan has lost his voice and is unable to perform tonight. Therefore, tonight’s show has been canceled. Please make your way safely to the stadium exits.”

Rumors soon made the way that Wallen's reason for canceling the performance was he was too drunk after a TikTok video of a security guard at the stadium suggested the same. The video went viral gaining millions of views.

Soon after the rumors, Big Loud CEO Seth England tried to shut them down in a statement from event company Best Crowd Management, which handled security for the concert at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. "A hired employee of BEST Crowd Management made false claims as it related to last night’s Morgan Wallen concert and we do not stand behind the detail in his statement. Please refer to Morgan’s social media pages for details," as per Billboard. This week, Wallen also became the first artist to have three songs in the top 10 on Billboard‘s Country Airplay chart simultaneously, with “Thought You Should Know” at No. 7, “Last Night” at No. 8, and “One Thing at a Time” at No. 9.
