'Modern Family' star Julie Bowen trolled for name-dropping Taylor Swift while discussing Sofia Vergara divorce

Julie Bowen said she wished Taylor Swift was there with her during her 2018 divorce

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The ‘Modern Family’ star Julie Bowen is facing internet scrutiny after she dropped Taylor Swift’s name while describing her and Sofia Vergara’s divorce.

During an interview with People, Bowen said that she wished the ‘Lavender Haze’ singer was there during her divorce from her ex-husband Scott Phillips in 2018. 

Bowen also commented that Sofia Vergara is doing well following her divorce from Joe Manganiello in July.

‘She doesn't need Taylor Swift to take her to a game’

During an interview with People at the Step Up Inspiration Awards in Los Angeles on Friday, October 6, Bowen commented on Vergara, saying, "Her Instagram says it all... Sofía has always had such a wonderful family that surrounds her and wonderful friends."

She further added, “She doesn't need Taylor Swift to take her to a game. She's good.”

The ‘Boston Legal’ star continued that all the other Hollywood stars undergoing divorce have Taylor Swift as a support system. 

She claimed, “But I'm super happy that all those other girls are going to games with T Swifty.”

The ‘Horrible Bosses’ star’ also added, “I wish she had been around for me.”

Last week, on October 1, Swift attended her rumored beau Travis Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs game against the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

She was accompanied by Sophie Turner who is in the middle of her divorce with estranged husband Joe Jonas.

'What does Taylor have to do with this?'

One fan commented, "What does taylor have to do with this? …."

Another Swiftie commented, "Taylor is the moment and she’s trying to be relevant."

One angry fan said, "What's her business with Taylor Swift? Why are you calling her name?" 

While a fan stated, "Why is it so hard for some women to uplift women without bringing other women down?"

Someone else commented, "WHAT DOES YOUR DIVORCE HAVE TO DO WITH TAYLOR ?!?"

An angry social media fan said, "I’m convinced every single celebrity is being told to bring up Taylor Swift for some clout or something because wtf??"

"They are putting Taylor everywhere like some spice," commented one more fan.

"Without Taylor in the sentence, it wouldn't make the news. Silly clout chasers," said another angry fan.

one more fan stated, "Sofía is really talented and sexy and I'm glad that she's doing good but what's the point of bringing up Taylor? Why are you taking the limelight from Sofía."

"She needs Taylors' name to trend," said someone else.

Another Swiftie commented, "What is it with celebrities' obsession with randomly mentioning Taylor."
