Mitt Romney slams Donald Trump's lawsuits alleging voter fraud, says 'normally you find evidence first'
Mitt Romney has slammed President Donald Trump once again, saying he is continuing to claim voter fraud without having any evidence to support his claims. While speaking to CNN commentator's podcast The Axe Files, Romney spoke to David Axelrod and said, "Normally you find evidence and then after seeing evidence then you reach a conclusion about whether or not there was a crime committed."
"But I understand the president is not happy with the result, he's entitled to pursue his legal remedies. But I think in all likelihood, it's pretty clear that Joe Biden will become the next president," Romney added. The US senator from Utah had been among the first few Republican lawmakers to publicly acknowledge that Joe Biden had won the election.
He had also called him the President-elect. Romney spoke about how surprised he was that many Republicans believe that Biden's win is 'illegitimate' and is a result of some funny business in the ballot collection and counting. He had been referring to a poll that was released on Wednesday, November 18, which shows that more than three in four Trump voters believe that Biden won due to fraud.
Another poll had showed that 52% of Republicans believe that Trump had 'rightfully won' the election. While speaking to Axelrod, Romney had said this sort of doubt in GOP and conservative minds could be due to the fact that Trump had repeatedly said if Biden won it would only be due to Democrats 'stealing' the election, in the weeks leading up to Election Day.
Romney shared, "The president said before the election that if he were to lose it would be because of voter fraud, it would be because of corruption. And then a day or two after the election when the vote was called by the major networks he indicated that there was massive fraud and that he had been robbed of the victory."
"And that was before any evidence had been gathered," Romney continued.
Social media users are not too pleased with Romney's comments. One such user shared, "Romney is lining himself up as the Republican candidate for 2024, which could lead to Trump running as an independent. It's incredible a population that diverse has only two parties and nine Supreme Courts Justices."
Another shared, "Atleast Dems support their side Mittens is such a snake and coward, that even after being treated like shit during 2012, he still bows down and kisses the Lefts ass." Yet another commented, "Mitt Romney is still a greedy coward who helps install immoral right wing goons and freaks into our judiciary so greed is endless, raping the planet never stops and bigotry reigns. @MittRomney is a bad person."

We had earlier reported that after the 2020 US Presidential Election on November 3, Trump claimed an early victory. Millions of votes were still yet to be counted, and despite Trump leading in many of the battleground states, as more and more ballots were counted, Biden pulled ahead.
