The 68th edition of the Miss Universe competition crowned South Africa's Zozibini Tunzi as Miss Universe 2019 and was followed by Madison Anderson of Puerto Rico. Meanwhile, the second runner-up was awarded to Mexico's Sofía Aragón.

While fans have been rejoicing at the win of Tunzi, others are wondering why Sofia was given the position of 2nd runner-up. Ever since the competition started Sofia had been winning people's hearts with her speech and elegance.

Sofia, who is an active advocate for mental health treatment spoke about the importance of making a difference in the world. Many people had been rooting for her to win. She also spoke about how a Miss Universe should use the platform not to be a model but to be a role model to others.

Fans were quick to place their bets on her win after she honestly laid out her thoughts about how a society should be moved towards a better future. At the same time, she highlighted the fact that people should focus on inner beauty as outer beauty of a person is just like an ornament that can fade off.

After delivering a powerful speech many thought that there might be a possibility that she would be a step closer to the win. However, fans were left surprised when it was announced that she was the second runner-up.

Many took to social media to express their disappointment. One user wrote, "Okay but like Mexico needed at least the first runner up." Another added, "Mexico deserved to be 1st runner up not 2nd. South Africa definitely deserved the win."

Meanwhile, there were others who supported her despite her lose as one fan wrote, "It was a good fight, Miss Mexico! Still proud of you! Congratulations Miss South Africa! Miss Universe 2019. Wakanda Forever!!!"
