Is Joe Buck 'cringeworthy and biased'? Here's why people hate the sports broadcaster each time he calls a game

In Buck's case, the accusation is he just states what's already known, leading to questions about his talent as a sports broadcaster

The hate is real. Joe Buck manages to find himself in the middle of another Twitterati bash fest as he sits calling the Chicago Cubs vs Milwaukee Brewers game on August 13. This time he came under heavy fire for some poor commentary and that ended with people deciding he was completely drunk out of his wits. The loathing hasn't stopped for years now and it's safe to say, it's just gotten worse over the years. The most commonly asked question is, "Why do people hate Joe Buck so much?"

Here are a few tweets during the ongoing game that show the amount of hate the broadcaster receives each time he's on the seat to talk about the game.

"Is anyone listening to Joe Buck call the @Cubs @Brewers game? I think he’s either drunk or high, doing horrible movie quotes and impersonations. I typically turn his broadcasts off anyways for obvious reasons, but this is next level."

And this one's crisp and to the point. "Joe buck’s commentary is cringe worthy tonight."

"Tonight I am reminded how much I DISLIKE Joe Buck ‘s voice.... I remember so much negativity towards our @Cubs during the World Series...oh well, it’s only one game..."

In fact, such is the united hate that 2017 saw fans sign a petition asking to ban Buck and on-air partner Troy Aikman from calling Green Bay Packers games. Add some Anti-Buck memes, trolls and Facebook groups, there's just pure hatred for Buck on social media. And people have their reasons. For a major part, Buck's just bad. While there may be a few to disagree, this factor has been quite consistent. While we do not intend to take sides, Buck's still blessed with the perfect voice for commentary.

Except, he is called out for not adding anything new to what is already happening. Ideally, the role of a commentator is to bring to life the action on the field and balance it with some brilliant knowledge about the game. In Buck's case, the accusation is he just states what's already known, leading to questions about his talent as a sports broadcaster.

Next up is something Buck has made waves for. Bias. Call it an easy way for slamming someone, but that's added as another factor in deciding why people hate Buck. In his defense, he stated back in 2012 that people cannot take it when objectivity comes into play. According to SF Gate, he had opined: "Fans are used to hearing their hometown guys. When you come at it objectively, people aren't used to it. It gets frustrating."

So for now, it does look like Buck may have to deal with the hate. There's a feeling of sympathy considering the amount of flak he garners, but by the day's end, everyone's entitled to their opinions and from the reactions during the Cubs game, it's clear this hate is here to stay.
