Miley Cyrus shared a behind-the-scene picture from the set of NBC television special ‘Dolly Parton's Mountain Magic Christmas’ with her godmother Dolly Parton on Thursday, December 1, and wrote, “From Co-star to Co-Host.” To this, fans quickly reacted and called the pop singer, 30, and country music legend, 76, the “best duo.”

Talking about the new movie musical, that aired on Tuesday, December 1, at 8 pm on NBC and that featured performances and special guests, Parton described by saying, "It's a lot of drama. It's a lot of comedy, a lot of meaningful songs, a lot of meaningful places," during her appearance on the Today show. Parton, who called herself Cyrus' godmother during a conversation with E! News, also stated, "I was surrounded with family. And even a lot of these musical guests, they feel like family to me. Like Billy Ray and Miley — they've grown up with me. Having all those wonderful people around and doing it from Dollywood, in our park with a lot of our musicians, dancers, and singers, it was just real special for many reasons to me."

Parton-Cyrus' relationship

Parton explained in an NBC first look clip about her performance with Cyrus is “just getting to be with her and letting people see our relationship, in addition to how well our voices blend.” And during an interview with Teen Vogue on November 29, 2022, Parton said while talking to Cyrus, "One thing that touches me most of all is when you had me on the Hannah Montana show back years ago. You really helped my career, you introduced me to a whole new set of fans. Young ones! Though of course they're not all as young as they used to be now.” To which, Cyrus responded, “Well, you wrote the handbook on how to stay young.” Partron replies, “Well, I‘ve got the doctor’s bills to prove that.”

However, following the release of the special and the picture uploaded by Cyrus, fans couldn't stop gushing about them. One commented on the picture by calling them the "best duo," while another said, "So excited!!! It will be 6 am for me but I'm going up to watch the movie on NBC."
