Milan Harris posts a classy response after Meek Mill publicly dumps her, fans call her a 'role model'
When rapper Meek Mill took to social media on July 26 to publicly state that his relationship with fashion designer Milan Harris was now over, the Internet had a field day, raising various speculative theories about the breakup, with both Kim Kardashian and Nicki Minaj's names being bandied around.
Harris aka Milan Rouge, who has her own fashion brand Milano Di Rouge, had a baby son with Mill in May, but the rapper recently tweeted, "We me and Milano decided to remain friends and build our child as separate parents... we still have mad love for each other but we both came to a understanding! (sic)." He later added, "I made a lot of paper last year everything got different with a lot people I helped so I gotta revaluate myself! It will happen to anybody with success & power grow, stay strong and move forward! (sic)."
While most people were trashing Mill for his public breakup, Harris herself had the ultimate classy response to the unfolding fiasco on social media. The fashion designer and entrepreneur is also a vocal supporter of women's rights and her superbly worded response to the drama had everybody praising her savvy views online. She started off her recent Instagram post with "I'd never address my private life, publicly... But I just felt the need to say."
This had everyone expecting her to come out with a scathing response to Mill's public humiliation of her. However, the next picture on her Instagram update then bluntly stated "Arrest the cops that killed Breonna Taylor." With this post, Harris had perfectly showcased where the public's attention really needed to be, on the hot button topics and glaring injustices that really matter in the nation today.
The family of the slain emergency medical technician, Taylor, still awaits justice, after the African-American woman was shot and killed in her apartment by three Louisville Metro Police Department officers on March 13. As the Black Lives Matter protests are still raging on in the United States, Harris was pointing out that officers Jonathan Mattingly, Brett Hankison and Myles Cosgrove needed to face the consequences of their actions, just like George Floyd's alleged killer Derek Chauvin did.
Milan's perfectly timed and eloquent response had people praising her on social media, with one fan saying, "Boy they thought you was bout to make a statement!!" Another follower declared, "I your energy, your grown-up approach keeping being you." Other fans noted, "OHHH THIS WAS PERFECT TIMING" and another said. "YOU'RE FOCUSED ON MORE IMPORTANT THINGS."
Another supporter said, "Yes the correct energy to use in that situation" and another fan posted "Chileee you such a vibe such an influence." One fan concluded, "As always, you remain a class act and a consistent role model for all women." Top marks to Harris for making such a mature and socially-attuned response.
