‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always' Ending Explained: Mihn and gang set the screen ablaze in final showdown
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: If you have been hit with a bout of nostalgia today, it might be because of ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always,’ Netflix’s latest reunion special. The 'Power Rangers' franchise has been around for a long time and has garnered a huge fan following over the period of three decades. The longer you have loved the Power Rangers, the more you will enjoy Netflix’s ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.’
While this reunion special was all about getting the gang together and remembering Jason David Frank and Thuy Trang, the underlying theme was all about carrying on the mantle. The focus of ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always' remained on Mihn, played by Charlie Kersh. Mihn never truly got over the loss of her mother, and the reunion special served as an outlet for her journey to avenge her mother’s death.

'Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always' Review: Cheesy, nostalgic, and for the fans!
Do the Power Rangers have a happy ending?
Fifty-five minutes simply didn’t seem enough, but despite the run time being less than an hour, ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always' managed to achieve what they set out to do. There were two goals that this Netflix reunion special had established from the very beginning. One, is to defeat the supervillain, Robo Rita, along with her sidekicks Snizzard and Minotaur. The second was to portray Mihn’s journey from loss to grieving, to anger, and finally, acceptance and power.
As ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always' reached its end, it managed to do both of those things in a seamless manner, with plenty of action and heartwarming moments. Although we knew that the Power Rangers would ultimately defeat Robo Rita and her sidekicks, there were moments of doubt, because she was back stronger than ever. ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always' ended with the ultimate and affirmative death of Robo Rita in the most Power Ranger-esque way possible. They came together as a team, and that was the only way they could have gotten rid of her.
A bittersweet goodbye
All the Power Rangers go their own way because, at the end of the day, this was only a reunion special. It was bittersweet, knowing that these characters could always rely on each other, and were the perfect example of a found family. Billy decides to focus on his own adventures, giving his life purpose again, but before that, Mihn and Billy have a much-needed heartfelt conversation.
Billy, Mihn, and Zack talk about Trini, remembering the good old days. Now, Mihn is officially a Power Ranger and has managed to keep her mother’s legacy intact. Before the credits roll, we see a clip featuring the older cast, and at this point, you will find yourself reaching for the tissues!
‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always' is streaming on Netflix from April 19, 2023.
