Born on July 17, 1973, Charles grew up in Brooklyn, New York, and hails from a Haitian family. Her parents separated in her childhood and she was brought up by a single mother. Charles was born and brought up in Brooklyn, New York. Hence, her identity is American, yet her nationality is Haitian and not Jamaican. Midwin’s folks separated from when she was youthful and she was reared by a single parent, according to TG Time. When Midwin Charles was a child, she suffered from asthma issues.
Charles graduated from Syracuse University in 1995 with a BA degree in International Relations & African-American Studies, before pursuing a law degree from American University, Washington College of Law.
