Former First Lady Michelle Obama has shared a sweet tribute to herd her husband Barack Obama for Father's Day. She took to Instagram to share a throwback photo of Barack with their two daughters Sasha and Malia. Michelle wrote, "Thank you for the way you love our girls—and all the young people in this country, no matter who they are or where they come from. We feel your warmth and generosity today and every day. Happy Father’s Day, Barack!" Click to see picture here

As per Daily Mail, the picture appears to have been taken at least a decade ago back when Obama was first elected in 2008. In the throwback snap, which received over 2 million likes, Obama is seen laughing as he pulls in his daughter Malia, who is now 21, for a hug. His other arm is wrapped tightly around his other daughter Sasha, who is now 19. Her fans and followers absolutely loved the sweet tribute and the picture and took to the comments section to share their praise. One such user shared, "Not only a phenomenal president, (the best we’ve ever had), but also a phenomenal father, role model, and husband!" Another wrote, "Happy Father’s Day to the most dignified man to hold the office of the President. You are so very missed, Mr. President." "Happy father's day Mr. President...you gave us the opportunity to hold our heads up and claim the equality that we deserve in this country," shared another.

Recently, the former president has been vocal since the killing of 46-year-old George Floyd. At the beginning of the month, he had offered up some unscripted advice and support to the victims of racial injustice. He said he wanted to "speak directly to the young men and women of color in this country who have witnessed too much violence and too much death." He added, "I want you to know that you matter. I want you to know that your lives matter, that your dreams matter."

"And when I go home and I look at the faces of my daughters Sasha and Malia, and I look at my nephews and nieces, I see limitless potential that deserves to flourish and thrive," he continued. Back in 2011, Obama wrote an essay for People where he spoke of his father and said, "I always felt his absence and wondered what it would have been like if he had been a greater presence in my life. I still do. It is perhaps for this reason that fatherhood is so important to me, and why I’ve tried so hard to be there for my own children."

Recently, Michelle also recognized fathers worldwide in a post that promoted the Footprints Foundation which is a nonprofit that has been dedicated to adolescent girls' education and health. She had shared a video where the founder of the organization Eric Mlambo read out a letter to his own daughter. Michelle captioned the video, "This #FathersDay weekend, I'm celebrating dads around the world who are doing everything they can to give their children the opportunities they deserve."
