Michael Jackson's son Blanket buys $2.6M mansion in Calabasas, will have Dr Dre and John Travolta as neighbors
Michael Jackson's youngest son Blanket has reportedly bought his first home for a staggering $2.6 million. Prince Michael Jackson Jr II, endearingly known Blanket or Bigi, marked his 18th birthday on 21 February by leaving the family home and buying his very own mansion.
The King of Pop's son has splurged on the lavish property in the city of Calabasas, California, which places him close to other high-profile residents in the area, according to Variety.
The luxurious 6,382 square-feet home includes seven and a half bathrooms and is guarded by 24/7 security that frequently patrols the coveted neighborhood. The Mediterranean-style house, which had undergone multiple renovations since it was built in 1990, also comes with a three-car garage, three fireplaces, and carefully maintained grass lawns both in the front and the rear of the property.
Guests are welcomed by a kingsize foyer at the entrance that features a curved, carpeted staircase. Once inside, Blanket can spoil his friends in the large living room which is perfect for fancy dinner parties, complete with a crystal chandelier near to the formal dining area. The property also includes a butler’s pantry, a family room with a wet bar, a kitchen with granite counters, dark wood cabinets and stainless steel appliances, per Metro.
Blanket can also enjoy a dip in the large swimming pool and spa near the garden. His neighbors are mostly prominent figures including Hollywood veteran John Travolta, reality TV star Kendra Wilson, rapper and producer Dr. Dre, former NBA star Al Harrington, and OJ Simpson prosecutor Marcia Clark.
That said, the teenager is probably familiar with the Calabasas neighborhood, considering he previously lived in the area with his grandmother Katherine Jackson after Michael’s tragic death in 2009. Blanket is not the first of Jackson's children who have splurged on lavish homes. Back in 2017, Paris Jackson bought a $2 million property in the semi-remote Topanga Canyon area. Just months after, the eldest sibling Michael Jackson Jr bought a kingsize home in Rancho Palos Verdes, California for a whopping $2.2. million.
