Best dressed celebrities at Met Gala 2019: Lady Gaga and Billy Porter lead the list with their spectacular outfits
Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute's gala is here and the celebrities who graced the red carpet looked stunning as they showcased the creativity of their designers for this year's theme - Camp. Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams, and Anna Wintour are hosting the gala and the pink carpet began with a dramatic entry of one of the hosts of the year - Lady Gaga.
The singer-songwriter and actor of 'Star is Born', Lady Gaga's red carpet entrance was one of the most, if not the most dramatic entry we have seen in recent times as she began with an oversized fuschia cloak and train that she stripped to reveal a beautiful black ball gown after which she slipped in a body-hugging spaghetti strapped fuschia dress before stripping it all down to the bare minimum and she had the crowd cheering for her performance and the choice of outfit designed by Brandon Maxwell.
Billy Porter, the star of FX's Pose arrived in style and literally unfurled his wings and it was one of the most gorgeous outfits of the night. He made a royal entrance complete with pallbearers and then took over the pink carpet after Lady Gaga stunned the crowd with her outfit. He arrived in a gold bodysuit, a chain headpiece and a beaded cape reminding us of ancient Egypt.
Laverne Cox chose to go with a ruffled black Christian Siriano gown, but her makeup and hair added the glamor needed to uplift the outfit. The outfit was reportedly 'inspired by fantasy'.
Lupita Nyong'o looked like a vision in this rainbow Versace creation. From her exaggerated updo to the neon rainbow top and matching fan purse, she killed it on the carpet tonight.
The fact that Harry Styles chose to go with a simple sheer black ruffled blouse, black trousers accessorized with a single pearl earring by Gucci was interesting. The outfit became quite a fan favorite among people on Twitter.
Charlie XCX looked pretty in a thigh-high split ruffled neon-yellow dress, which she chose from Jean-Paul Gaultier's Spring 2019 Couture collection. The dramatic ruffles at the asymmetrical hemline looks great on her.
Ezra Miller's look demanded eyeballs - literally. Miller in this look by Burberry’s Riccardo Tisci consisted of a black pinstriped wool suit with an exaggerated cape detail. Around his midsection, he had on a crystal-studded cage corset. He accessorized his look with a mask.
Aquaria who performed at the pre-Met Gala party hosted by Vogue arrived at the Met Gala in a deconstructed silk gown, paired with a painted white wig.
Priyanka Chopra appeared on the Met Gala pink carpet with her husband Nick Jonas and she looked gorgeous in silver feather dress and a high crown. The silver gown with pastel detailing and matching, polka-dotted hosiery wowed us!
Cardi showed off some serious couture in this blood red quilted and feathered gown by Thom Browne. This moment gave us some serious flashbacks of Rihanna's iconic 2015 Met Gala look designed by Guo Pei in yellow. Cardi looked absolutely ravishing in this outfit, reminding us that red always works!
What's there to not like about her? The iconic singer stunned from head to toe and was dripping gorgeousness in this Oscar de la Renta number at the 2019 Met Gala. We just can't get over the headpiece and the elegance of it all.
Constance Wu wore a beautiful grey Marchesa gown with make-up on point. While the dress itself was not totally inspired by the theme of the year, she looked gorgeous in the classy outfit.
Kylie Jenner looked resplendent in purple from head to toe. She appeared at the Met Gala with her sister Kris Jenner who was dressed in an orange outfit with feather details.
