Keeping up with tradition, first lady Melania Trump took to Twitter to wish her son Barron on his 14th birthday.

"Happy Birthday BWT," the first lady wrote as a caption, adding three heart-emojis at the end, to the photo of a pair of party balloons in the shape of "14." The tweet is keeping with the tradition of wishing her teenage son on his birthday in a both simple, yet adorable way. Last year, Melania posted a photo of a gold-tone Mylar balloon in the shape of "13" with an identical tweet, except for the age in the message, of course.

Although Trump and his family have been subjected to a lot of criticisms, especially on the way White House has chosen to handle the coronavirus pandemic, Melania received nothing but support and well wishes for her son upon posting the sweet message.

"HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO OUR #FirstSon. God bless you Barron. #WeThePeople love appreciate and respect your Father @POTUS," one social media user commented underneath her post, while another wrote in a similar vein, "Happy birthday Barron. May you grow up to be kind, compassionate, tolerant, sincere and trustworthy."

A third user wrote, "Happy birthday, Barron!!! We love you and PRAY IN JESUS' NAME that you 'would grow in stature and in favor with God and man'! May the Lord draw your heart unto Himself and keep you pure for His purposes!...to do great and mighty things for Him!"

Some of them, however, were quick to warn the teenager against having a big celebration as he turned 14 because of the ongoing threat of the fast-spreading virus, in the light of which, his father's administration had warned people against gatherings of more than 10 people.

"I hope he’s practicing what we’re all practicing not having a party not being close to each other! Not hugging kissing our children! Because his father has done all this by himself and all the other damn Republicans so have a good one Barron. Meanwhile, kids can’t go Anywhere," one of the users wrote.

So far, President Donald Trump has not wished his son on Twitter yet.

Last year, at the time of his birthday, Barron was on a spring break at the Maryland private school where he's an eighth-grader. To celebrate his birthday, Barron joined his mother at their Palm Beach, Florida, home, WTSP reported. The pair were not joined by Trump as he had to stay back in the White House for work. There was no word on how the teen celebrated his birthday.

Meanwhile, on Monday, March 16, the president revealed during a news conference that he had admitted to Barron, that the COVID-19 crisis was worsening. "I've spoken, actually, with my son [Barron]," he admitted. "He said, 'How bad is this?' It's bad. It's bad."

The news conference also saw Trump release a two-page list of coronavirus guidelines called '15 Days to Slow the Spread' and confess that the pandemic could very well be a threat into the summer.

"Each and every one of us has a critical role to play in stopping the spread," he said. "People are talking about July, August, something like that. They could be right in that period of time where it washes through."

However, his advisor, Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, was quick to jump in and state that there was no concrete timeline for when the country will be in the all-clear.

"The guidelines are over a 15 day-trial guideline," he said. "The president was saying that the trajectory of the outbreak may go until then, make sure you don't think that it's solid in stone until July."
