Melania Trump's 'I really don't care, do u' jacket jibe was directed at Ivanka, claims new book: 'They have a frosty relationship'
Melania Trump's unauthorized biography, written by CNN White House correspondent Kate Bennett, provides some insights into FLOTUS' relationship with Ivanka Trump.
The book, titled 'Free Melania', also explores FLOTUS' infamous green Zara jacket, which had "I REALLY DON’T CARE, DO U?" written on the back. She wore the jacket while going to visit 55 migrant children who were being detained without their parents in Texas. Bennett says the choice of the jacket was not meaningless or coincidental.
The book looks at Melania's strained relationship with her stepdaughter Ivanka Trump, which is apparently not as friendly as what it used to be before they came to the White House. While the two women are "fine" and "supportive" of each other, Ivanka getting involved in activities usually carried out by the first lady has reportedly caused some tension between them.
Bennett believes that Melania was pretty miffed by Ivanka's many trips overseas which felt "too close for comfort for Melania, who thought Ivanka was invading her turf".
As reported by The New York Times, Bennett shared, "I believed, and still do, that the jacket was a facetious jab at Ivanka and her near-constant attempts to attach herself for positive administration talking points." According to Bennett, Melania and Ivanka's relationship is "cordial, not close".
The biography 'Free Melania' is said to offer details about Melania's life "from her childhood in Slovenia to her days in the White House, and everything in-between", according to the summary on Amazon. The book also spoke about how Melania and her husband Donald sleep in separate rooms on separate floors. Melania prefers her own large, private space in a suite of rooms located on a different floor itself.
