Melania Trump trolled for all-brown suede look at turkey pardoning ceremony: 'Did she repurpose an old brown suede couch?'

For the special occasion, the mother-of-one donned sepia brown suede trench coat by Burberry and a pair of matching Saint Laurent knee-high brown suede slouch boots on tall block heels.

First Lady Melania Trump got severely trolled on social media after she chose a head-to-toe brown suede look for the 72nd annual Thanksgiving turkey pardoning ceremony at the White House Rose Garden on Tuesday, November 26.

For the special occasion, the mother-of-one donned sepia brown suede trench coat by Burberry and a pair of matching Saint Laurent knee-high brown suede slouch boots on tall block heels. The coat was double-breasted and cut off at the knees that gave off a military influence with long sleeves. It had 12 buttons down the front - all of which were fastened up to the collar.

The coat was fastened at her waist by a chunky belt which showed off her slender frame. According to Footwear News, Melania put together her look of the day by drawing inspiration from three style statements that were popularized by 2019 collections — monochrome dressing, browns and slouch boots.

But combining a bunch of trends might not have been the best idea for Melania, who usually gets her looks spot on. The lack of color contrast with the fact that she was predominantly covered in an unflattering brown suede invited a barrage of negative comments on Twitter.

"Perhaps head-to-toe brown SUEDE was bad?" wrote one user, while another commented, "On the back it reads: 'I really don't do Black Friday, do you?'"

A third tweeted: "Did she repurpose an old brown suede couch?"

Apart from a smiling Melania seen supporting President Donald Trump as he pardoned two turkeys - 47-pound Butter and 45-pound Bread - both of whom will now go to live at Gobbler’s Rest, a turkey sanctuary on the campus of Virginia Tech University -  the event was also attended by POTUS' younger daughter, Tiffany Trump.

Later, as Melania left the White House along with her husband and son, Barron, to fly to Florida to attend a campaign rally and spend Thanksgiving at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club, she put on a pair of thin rectangle tortoiseshell sunglasses.

She wore the same outfit to the Baltimore Youth Summit, where she delivered a speech on opioid awareness.

“I am proud of the DEA 360 Strategy and @mark_wahlberg_youth_foundation @jimbow36 for hosting B’More Youth Summits on Opioid Awareness across the country. We need to work together to educate our nation’s youth on a healthy and drug-free life. Thank you for inviting me to join you today! #BeBest” she wrote on Instagram, posting pictures from the event.

She also got trolled for choosing to wear suede indoors. "What’s up with wearing a Burberry suede coat indoors on stage with thigh-high suede boots - tone-deaf," one social media user said.
