Melania looks stunning in seafoam green gown as she attends state dinner for Australian PM
First lady Melania Trump looked stunning in a seafoam green gown designed by J. Mendel, on September 20. Melania wore the gorgeous gown for a dinner that honored Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison and his wife, Jenny Morrison. The chiffon dress was very elegant and featured wave-like ruffles in the front, a pleated A-line skirt as well as sheer sleeves.
She finished off her look with a pair of leather Christian Louboutin heels. This was the second state dinner that the Trump administration had hosted and Melania's outfit was perfect for the evening which was hosted in the presidential garden.
The dress is no longer available though Bergdorf's had sold it earlier this year. The dress reportedly cost around $6,000. The dress had been designed by Gilles Mendel who is the creative director of J. Mendel. The company had filed for bankruptcy in 2018 and is looking to start to rebuild.
This is not the first time that Melania has sported the design house's clothes. In July 2018, she had worn a pale yellow chiffon gown by the same designer to a state dinner that had taken place at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England. The yellow gown had been chosen to honor the Queen as it is reportedly her favorite.
As opposed to dining in the traditional State Dining Room in the White House, attendees were invited to Rose Garden and were surrounded by flowers that represented Australia's national colors of green and gold.
While welcoming Morrison and his wife, Melania was seen sporting an ice blue dress by Australian designer, Scanlan Theodore.
Recently, Melania was seen attending the reopening of the Washington Monument after it had gone through three years of repair. The first lady wore a white Prada dress and a pair of pumps designed by Manolo Blahnik. The dress was simple and elegant and cut off at the knee and featured a mid-waist belt.
