Melania Trump outshines Kate Middleton in stunning Dior dress at Buckingham Palace state banquet
US first lady Melania Trump looked absolutely stunning at Monday night's state banquet which was held at the Buckingham Palace during President Donald Trump's first official visit to the UK.
Melania's tasteful outfit completely outshone the one worn by Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton who also attended the event.
Melania was seen sporting a white, sleeveless Dior Haute Couture dress with silk tulle detail and a pair of white gloves. She finished off the look with a pair of Manolo Blahnik shoes which were of an ivory shade. The first lady was seen glowing at the formal event as she posed next to her husband Trump and Queen Elizabeth before the white tie dinner.
She accessorized with a pair of shimmering diamond earrings.
On the other hand, Kate who attended the banquet along with Duke of Cambridge Prince William was seen sporting the Lover's Knot tiara which was a favorite of late Princess Diana. The stunning tiara had been made in 1914 and was given to Princess Diana as a wedding present in 1981. She also sported the Queen Mother's Sapphire and Diamond Fringe Earrings.
However, she was let down by the white ruffled dress designed by Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton, which sat shabbily on her frame. Kate had her royal orders pinned to the front of the gown.
Other royals who attended the dinner were Prince Andrew, Edward and Sophie, Princess Anne and several of the Queen's cousins. The Duchess of Sussex Meghan Markle was absent from the event given that she had recently given birth to her and Prince Harry's first child, Baby Archie, and was on her maternity leave.
All four of Trump's adult children including Ivanka, Donald Jr, Eric, and Tiffany also attended the Buckingham Palace banquet.
