Melania Trump is a ‘guiding influence’ on Barron but happy to let go as he grows up, says body language expert
First lady Melania Trump is the “guiding influence” for son Barron Trump as he grows up and becomes more independent, a body language expert has claimed. The 50-year-old is the third wife of Donald Trump, whom she married in 2005. Fourteen-year-old Barron is the only child of Melania with Trump, and who was born in March 2006. The former model is also the step-mother of Trump’s four children - Donald Trump Jr, 42, 38-year-old Ivanka Trump, 36-year-old Eric Trump, and Tiffany Trump, 26.
The teenage son of the first couple of the US has occasionally been seen in public with his parents. Sometimes he has been seen accompanying Melania and Trump at important political events. Body language expert Bruce Durham, who has noticed the mother-son duo at these public events over the years, explained some telling signs of their relationship. After analyzing the pictures of the first lady and her teenage son at a political event shortly after Trump became the president of America, Durham said they share a true mother-son bond.
“Melania is the guiding influence. Her left hand on her son's back says 'it’s ok, come on you, can do this' and her right-hand palm down in front of Barron says 'calm down, I have got you'. This indicates their true bond,” the expert told Express.co.uk. “She knows he has a role there, what he needs to do, but also how to look after her only son with a mothering parent-child set up. She cares more about her son."
Durham, of YouTube channel Believingbruce, also revealed that though Melania and Barron had come out together to support Trump in the past, the former model appeared more focused on her son. For example, during the 74-year-old’s inauguration, Melania was seen helping her son fix his tie. “In the photo, we again see Melania taking the lead. Direct hand contact controlling the situation and making Barron more presentable and/or giving him a little tweak to make him feel better. It seems she is saying 'there you go son, now you look smart', which is an action that a lot of males may recognize from their own mother,” the body language expert continued.
According to Durham, as Barron is getting older and mature, his body language hints that he is becoming more independent and his mother appears to be happy for this. “In another photo, we see more of the independent nature of Barron. He has a slight smile with his fingers splayed and thumb in the same position, showing confidence. His mother sees this and is happy enough to let him grow into this moment. No hand contact needed this time – just direct eye contact and the smile of a mother that is proud of her son,” he added.
This comes after Melania joined her husband and Vice President Mike Pence for a “National Dialogue on Safely Reopening America’s Schools” event at the White House on July 7. For the event, she chose a geometric black and white midi dress. She paired the color-blocking dress with 5-inch pointed-toe heels with a stiletto finish from Christian Louboutin. The mother-of-one completed her look by opting for her signature style, which was comprised of smokey eyes, nude lips, and blow-dried hair.
During the gathering, Melania insisted on the holistic experience of school that children were missing out on during the Covid-19 pandemic. "When children are out of school, they're missing more than just time in the classroom. They're missing the laughter of their friends, learning from their teachers, and the joy of recess and play,” she said.
