First Lady Melania Trump was seen attending the reopening of the Washington Monument after it had gone through three years of repair. She was accompanied by a group of fourth-grade children from a DC school.

Melania opened the monument in style and was seen sporting a sleeveless white Prada dress and a pair of pumps designed by Manolo Blahnik. The dress was simple and elegant and cut off at the knee and featured a mid-waist belt.

In contrast to her white dress, her pumps featured some marigold, teal, green, and dark brown hues on a python print. Manolo Blahnik himself called his BB Pumps "a good shoe for every occasion".

The classic shoe was introduced around a decade ago and has been named after French movie star Brigitte Bardot. The stunning pair of heels are around four inches high and are extremely flattering, lengthening the appearance of the legs.

Melania was seen arriving along with Interior Secretary David Bernhardt as well as students from the Amidon-Bowen Elementary School. When she arrived, students were seen squealing in delight and she even exchanged high fives with a few of them.

She also distributed some passes for 'Every Kid Outdoors Program' which will allow students and families to visit around 2,000 federal recreation areas.

According to a report by the New York Post, a nine-year-old boy, William shared, "I gave her a hug. And she gave us these cards," before adding that he was never washing his clothes again!

The Washington Monument was formally reopened in the afternoon on Thursday, September 19. It had shut in 2016 after an elevator cable snapped. However, there were many more extensive repairs than just the lift. The elevator was replaced in addition to security screening updates.

A superintendent of the National Mall and memorial parks, Jeffrey Reinbold shared, "You obviously never want to close an icon like this to the public, and so we would Band-Aid it for years."

He added, "That was a very difficult decision that was made three years ago to shut it down and do it correctly." Melania had previously visited the monument when it was under repair.
