Melania gets roasted for 'cold and uncaring' Kobe Bryant tribute following tragic crash: 'Her secretary wrote this'
Melania Trump is facing a lot of criticism and backlash online for her tribute to late Kobe Bryant, his daughter Gianna, and seven others who died in a helicopter crash.
She faced a lot of heat from Twitter users after she sent out her "thoughts and prayers" to all those who died in the Calabassas helicopter crash that occurred on Sunday, January 26, for sounding too uncaring and non-sincere in her condolences.
In the wake of Bryant's death, FLOTUS took to Twitter to share, "Thoughts and prayers to the family of #Kobe Bryant and those who lost loved ones in today’s tragic crash. Rest In Peace."
However, many social media users accused her of being very cold and uncaring. They also said that they are 'sick and tired' of her thoughts and prayers. A few people have accused her of not writing the statement herself. One such user wrote, "Her secretary wrote this. What cracks me up she never says Donald and I or our family."
A second user shared, "First of all, we neither value nor find comfort in words from you or @realDonaldTrump Ever. Especially with such an epic tragedy is this is. Secondly please just allow America to mourn and remember a great icon and hero." A third user wrote, "Your staff did a great job writing this tweet for you."
While a fourth added, "You know she didn't write this. She doesn't care about anyone or anything except her wallet." Another user chimed in, "You can barely speak English, highly doubt you wrote this."
POTUS Donald Trump had also taken to Twitter to pay tribute to Bryant and all those who died. He wrote, "That is terrible news! Kobe Bryant, despite being one of the truly great basketball players of all time, was just getting started in life. He loved his family so much and had such a strong passion for the future. The loss of his beautiful daughter, Gianna, makes this moment even more devastating"
He too faced a lot of criticism with people accusing him and Melania of plagiarising their tribute statements from ex-president Barack and his wife Michelle Obama.
