While President Donald Trump seemed to be a jolly mood at the Congressional Ball on Thursday, December 12, despite being embroiled in impeachment proceedings, First Lady Melania Trump showed up at the White House Grand Foyer in a stunning white floor-length dress.

The caped-gown — a style that seems to be a favorite for the mother-of-one this year — made an appearance again on Thursday as Melania stepped out in a $4,000 crystal-embellished silk-crepe gown from Lebanese designer Reem Acra.

The gown pooled at the bottom and had a chiffon lining for the coverage. However, the flowy-dress was typically recommended for a wedding ceremony or reception.

At the event, Trump praised her talent for interior decoration rather than her fashion sense. "I want to congratulate Melania, she did such a beautiful job with the decorations," he said.

After being criticized for her creepy blood-red Christmas trees last year, which made many people on social media liken it to a gory scene on 'Game Of Thrones' called the 'Red Wedding,' Melania went back to celebrating the spirit of Christmas the traditional way this year with the predominant colors of green, red and gold.

Melania tweeted photos from the event, captioning it, "A beautiful evening at the @WhiteHouse. #CongressionalBall"

Brushing past the impeachment talks, Trump said that it had been a "very exciting month in Washington, DC."

The POTUS did not seem bothered by the fact that the House Judiciary Committee was expected to approve two articles of impeachment late Thursday.

"We're very proud of this country, we're very proud of this home. We call it home. Some presidents called it a house some presidents called it much worse," Trump said. 'We love the White House. It's a special place and this country is a special country."

He went on to boast about his presidential achievements next. "Our country is doing really great," the president said. "We have the best economy we've ever had in the history of our country. The stock market just hit a brand new high. That would be 129 records in really much substantially less than three years."
