For Melania's son Barron, White House was a 'downgrade' from Trump Tower where he had a whole floor to himself
First lady Melania Trump's son was 'downgraded' in the White House after moving into the presidential home.
The 13-year-old and his mother and moved into the White House a couple of months after Donald Trump had become the US president. The Trump family resides on the second floor of the White House and is away from the presidential offices.
However, the new house was a 'downgrade' for Barron who used to have an entire floor to himself in Trump Tower in New York, Town & Country reports, according to Express.
Barron was 9 at the time they lived in Trump Tower and had his own floor, Melania had revealed during a 2006 interview with People magazine. Melania had posed in her son's nursery which featured its own kitchen, living room, and quarters for a nanny and Melania.
At the time, Melania had said, "He’s a very good baby. He’s not like a crybaby – he’s calm, and it’s fantastic."
"Sometimes I just think, ‘Oh my God, this is my baby. I have a baby.’ There’s nothing like it," she continued. During the interview, she had also spoken about being gifted a gold stroller with its own chandelier after Barron was born. The gift had been sent by talk show host Ellen DeGeneres and had been described as 'grotesque' by social media users.
One such social media user had commented saying, "Sadly, many Americans think things like a golden stroller are a good thing. A sign of success, instead of selfish and evil." Another defended DeGeneres and said, "Ellen bought the stroller as a joke."
Very recently, Barron was noticeably missing from the Mar-a-Lago annual Christmas Eve dinner while Melania and POTUS Donald Trump celebrated. Barron had traveled along with the family to the resort in Florida on December 20, but has not been seen at any of the events.
Many social media users were outraged that Barron was not with his parents. One user shared, "So where’s the kid? Where’s Baron (sic)? Does he not spend time with any of his children, when they are teenagers? It’s Christmas, and you would think they would’ve showed off the kid."
Another said, "Where's Barron? It is Christmas Eve. Go actually engage with your children."
