Megyn Kelly begs fans to try ‘old school’ romance, says she's 'heard horror stories' about dating apps
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Megyn Kelly has a word of advice for her viewers. She told people to use “old school” methods for dating and to discard the current trend of using modern apps to find love.
The former Fox News host enlightened viewers of her podcast about the sweetness and effectiveness of old-school romance, where she included asking people to either “go for a movie" or “whisper sweet nothings” into each other ears.
This transpired as Kelly was discussing the advent of the “sexual revolution” with guest Bari Weiss on her podcast, which led to a fun-filled discussion comparing old-school and modern dating.
During the discussion, Kelly mentioned that she had “heard some horror stories” about online dating and warned viewers to exercise caution if they go down that path.
Megyn Kelly praises ‘old school’ methods of romance
Talking to Weiss on the podcast, Kelly revealed that when both of them were growing up, “You had to court someone a little bit” before you could make the next move.
Kelly said that in the past, “You actually had to work on building a relationship if you wanted to have sex with them and now you just swipe in Tinder and someone shows up at your door.”
The 52-year-old went on to state that this was not a healthy way of forming a bond with someone and she had “heard some horror stories” from her adult friends.
Speaking of such stories, Kelly slammed the hookup culture stating, “You can be extorted. You don’t know who is coming to your door. You’re going to have random sex with a random stranger you found on Tinder?”
She further added that the person you’re getting involved with might be out there to rob you or harm you and labeled using online dating apps a “fraught” way of having action.
Kelly suggested that her viewers “put down the phone” and instead “call somebody up on the rotary dial.” She told her viewers to “ask them for a movie” or “whisper some sweet nothings” to build a better bond.
“The old-school way worked Bari,” Kelly concluded, once again asserting, “It worked!”
