'The View' star Meghan McCain slammed President Donald Trump after he dissed MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace. Trump had taken to Twitter to talk about Wallace being fired from the ABC chat show, 'The View', in 2015. Wallace had herself discussed being fired from the show while doing an interview recently.

Trump had written on Twitter, "She was fired because she was boring and never had what it took. Perhaps that was proven to be a mistake!" The President was called out by Meghan McCain, who has been on the show since 2017.

In response to Trump, McCain shared, "You don’t have ANYTHING better to do than gossip about The View?!" as she retweeted his message along with her tweet, making it clear her response was directed at him.

Many social media users agreed with McCain and took to the comments section to show their support. One such user had written, "Why would the president of the US during a pandemic and economic downturn and jobless rates being at an all-time high care enough about a morning talk show to discuss such things on Twitter. My mother’s opinion on the view matter more than his."

Another added, "This really is all his brain can handle. He doesn’t have the capacity to actually solve the big problems. He doesn’t have the experience to handle complex issues, so he boasts about all he knows, which is trivial and trite gossip. This man is no President. He’s in over his head."

"Didnt his brother just pass away? isnt there more important things like mourning that loss or the COVID pandemic or the economy that he should be worrying about other than this?" commented another Twitter user.

Another social media user who echoed the same sentiments wrote, "He’s got plenty to do but it’s not getting done because he prioritizes feeding his narcissistic ego over leading. #POTUS45 doesn’t have enough character or integrity to carry your fathers briefcase. Sadly, he never will."

The recent exchange followed Wallace's interview with The Los Angeles Times, which had been published on August 17. During the interview, she had revealed that Whoopi Goldberg had predicted that Trump would become president back in 2015. She also addressed being fired from the show and said, "Being fired from a TV show where you think you’re kind of baring your soul feels personal because it is. I think what I didn’t understand is…it really was a casting, and it was a casting they didn’t like."

Just like McCain, Wallace also represented the Republican voice while on the show. Even though the two support Trump's party, both McCain and Wallace have been very critical of Trump's administration.

This is also not the first time that Trump has taken a shot at Wallace. Back in May, he had called out Wallace and her network MSNBC as well as its parent company Comcast after she defended Joe Biden.

At the time, Trump had tweeted, "She was thrown off The View like a dog. Zero T.V. Personas. Now Wallace is a 3rd rate lap dog for Fake News MSDNC (Concast). Doesn’t have what it takes!"
