Meghan Markle looks striking in black tailored pants and Diana's jewelry as she returns to work after maternity leave
Meghan Markle made a radiant return to work after giving birth to her first child with Prince Harry on Thursday. The Duchess of Sussex looked stunning as she arrived at the launch of her capsule collection with Smart Works charity, called The Smart Set, on the London rooftop of John Lewis.
The new fashion line will help support unemployed women. Meghan was seen sporting items from the collection - Misha Nonoo's £125 white shirt and the £120 black Jigsaw trousers; she held the combo with a tan Ralph Lauren belt. She finished off her look with a pair of Jimmy Choo brown heels which complimented the rest of her outfit.
She chose to accessorize her outfit with some of Princess Diana's jewelry—her gold and diamond bangle with navy accents and a pair of butterfly earrings which the duchess has worn in the past. Before the event, Meghan had shared a few snaps from the shoot of the Smart Set line on her social media.
She had captioned the images, "Since moving to the UK, it has been deeply important to me to meet with communities and organizations on the ground doing meaningful work and to try to do whatever I can to help them amplify their impact."
The fashion line had been created in collaboration with popular and well-renowned British stores and designers. In the caption of the images, Meghan had thanked the four brands involved, Jigsaw, Marks & Spencer, Misha Nonoo, and John Lewis and Partners, all of whom had worked on the project.
The sale of the 'Smart Set Capsule Collection' will go on for at least two weeks. The charity aims to provide quality clothes and training for unemployed women for job interviews.
The Duchess of Sussex was last seen while she was out on Saturday in New York City. She had taken a last-minute flight to go to the US in order to cheer her friend Serena Williams at the US Open final which took place last weekend. Meghan had flown in on Friday and had left on Sunday. The mother of one was 'determined' to keep a low profile, as reported by Page Six.
