Meghan and Harry have had no visitors, only leave home for charity work while in isolation with Archie: Source
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are spending their time in isolation amidst the coronavirus pandemic bonding as a family, a source revealed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex officially stepped down as senior members of the royal family at the end of March and have since moved out of their mansion in Canada's Vancouver Island and into a home in Los Angeles.
The couple and their son Archie, who is set to turn one-year-old this coming May 6, are spending most of their time inside and only "leave their house for charity work."
"They spend their evenings at home as a family. They haven’t had any visitors," a source told People.
MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) previously reported how Meghan had upped the ante when it came to taking every possible precaution against the novel coronavirus after Prince Charles tested positive for Covid-19.
"Meghan said hearing the news of Prince Charles has put everyone on edge," a source said at the time. "She said she is worried about her own health and Harry's health because she doesn't want to pass anything onto Archie."
"Meghan said she would rather be overly cautious than not," the source added.
The Duchess was said to have mandated that anyone who ran errands for her family follow a series of precautions, including leaving their shoes in a designated area outside, along with coats or jackets, and wearing a face mask at all times.
All the produce they consumed had to be washed with soap and water as well, and no boxes were allowed inside the home. "Whatever they order is opened outside, wiped down and then brought into the main quarters," the source shared.
Harry and Meghan are also using their newfound free time to find ways to support others, and following their move to LA, volunteered with a charity to help feed residents living with critical illnesses and who can't step out due to the lockdown. The couple assisted Project Angel Food on Easter Sunday in delivering perishable meals to around 20 vulnerable people in the city after they learned that the charity’s drivers were "overloaded" and needed extra hands to help feed people during the quarantine.
"Meghan said is she wanted to show Harry Los Angeles through the eyes of philanthropy," said Richard Ayoub, Project Angel Food’s executive director. "There’s obviously a great deal of love and selflessness between them."
Ayoub had also revealed both of them strictly followed all precautionary measures while doing the work, including wearing gloves and masks and keeping six feet or more apart from any members of the public. "They were both nice and very down-to-earth people," he said. "I thought that the tall red-headed guy looked pretty familiar, and that girl was very pretty. Then I saw the large black SUVs with the security guards behind them."
"If they had given me the heads up, I would have worn my tiara," he cheekily added.
Some reports claimed that the couple had also made a donation of about $112,527 (£90,000) to British charity Feeding Britain to support efforts to keep vulnerable populations fed during the lockdown overseas.
