Meghan Markle offered $1.2M to spill the beans on Megxit, royal family in tell-all interview: Source
Meghan Markle was offered a whopping £1 million ($1,244,700) to do a tell-all interview to a US TV network about quitting the royal family.
It has been reported that the mother of one was offered a massive amount in order to spill the beans on her and Prince Harry's exit from the royal family. Should Meghan decide to do so, it would be following in the steps of Harry's mother the late Princess Diana who gave a 1995 tell-all interview with Martin Bashir.
During the interview, she had opened up on her marriage with Prince Charles.
It is believed that Oprah Winfrey is the favorite in the running to what could be one of the biggest interviews of the decade. Meghan is currently in talks with many US networks about an explosive interview, Daily Star reports.
The interview would take place once the coronavirus lockdown has been lifted. It is likely to be screened globally for millions to see and listen to Meghan breaking her silence on the couple's decision to step down as senior members of the royal family.
It has been reported that Meghan is very serious about "trying to win back the public" and Harry is said to be giving "serious consideration" to the proposal. Meghan is reportedly in favor of allowing cameras to film their home and family life.
A source shared that Meghan's interview would be "the most anticipated global TV interview event since Diana’s famous tell-all chat with Martin Bashir. Meghan wants to donate all the money to charity — probably the NHS after the incredible efforts of all the frontline workers."
"When she was part of the Royal Family it would have been unthinkable for her to do a solo interview with anyone about her life and how being a princess has changed her world. But now she’s very much her own boss and it has put her under pressure feeling that the public have lost their ‘love’ for her and Harry after they took the big step of going on their own," the source added.
We had previously reported that Harry and Meghan have currently settled down in LA, California. The pair took a private jet to California along with their son, Archie, before the non-essential travel across borders was suspended due to the outbreak.
"They were told getting work visas in Canada would be difficult and because Meghan remains a US citizen, so is taxed on her worldwide income, she would end up paying in the US and Canada. Then the Canadian government made it clear they would not contribute to their security costs so it made much more sense to live in Hollywood and only pay US tax," a source told the Sun.
They are also much closer to their new team of Hollywood agents and PR firms whom they have hired to help them launch their careers. Their current and exact whereabouts are not really known but it has been reported that they are in lockdown in an exclusive gated community in LA.
The pair had shocked the world when they announced that they were quitting the royal family in January. They officially stepped down as senior royals on March 31.
