Oprah Winfrey's interview with Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry has taken the world by storm.

With the conversations revealing the darker side of the Royal Family, the couple spoke about just how much they suffered over the years. While people have been rallying in support of Markle, there is definitely some fact-checking that's been done concerning a few of her claims, such as the fact that she didn't google Prince Harry before their first date. Looks like the situation is not exactly black and white in this case.

How did the couple meet?

Everyone knows how the story goes – the royal couple was set up by a mutual friend. But turns out, there's more to this story than meets the eyes. The friend in question here is Violet von Westenholz, as reported by Vogue. Von Westenholz's father is Brain Piers Von Westenholz, who is good friends with Prince Charles, which led to her friendship with Prince. Whereas with regard to Markle, she met her through her job, seeing that she works in PR for Raphael Lauren. Prince Harry had been struggling to find someone for a while and keeping his royal status in mind, he couldn't exactly go out and meet people. He expressed his concern to a few close friends, including von Westenholz, who figured Markle might just be the person Prince Harry was looking for. Turns out, she was absolutely right.

Prince Harry claimed he knew Markle was 'the one' right since their first date

The pair met each other for the first time in early July 2016, where they met each other for a drink. In an article published by Town and Country, Markle mentioned that she didn't have too many notions before the date. Seeing that she was from the USA, she claimed that she didn't have an in-depth understanding of the royal family. Her only concern was if he was nice. Turns out he was, seeing that they decided to go on a second date. And of course, then came the couple's famous Botswana trip, where Prince Harry invited her to join him camping. It provided the pair with the perfect opportunity to really get to know each other, away from prying eyes.

So, is Markle's claim of 'I never looked up my husband online' true?

Markle mentioned during her interview that she's never looked up Prince Harry online. Turns out, refuting this is not as easy as it seems. As reported by the Daily Mail, 'Finding Freedom', the couple's impeccably well-sourced and researched biography says otherwise. The Sussexes themselves did not contribute to the book, but journalists Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand have done their fair share of research to ensure that it's as accurate as it can be. Turns out, before their first date in 2016 at Dean Street Townhouse in 2016, the pair looked each other up online. The book reads, "Naturally both participants in this blind date did their homework with a thorough Google search. Harry, who scoped out Meghan on social media, was interested."

The book also came with some interesting foreshadowing, courtesy of Markle's friend who offered some insight on what would happen if the couple were to date. "This could be crazy...you will be the most wanted woman," is what her friend had to say. Turns out, they were right.
