Meghan Markle has not seen her mother, Doria Ragland, since she moved back to Los Angeles even though they live just 10 miles apart. Prince Harry and Meghan are continuing to self-isolate amid the coronavirus pandemic along with their baby son, Archie. The couple moved from Vancouver Island, Canada, to Los Angeles late last month.

As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, the pair has been unable to visit Meghan's mother Doria Ragland. A source shared, "Meghan is absolutely heartbroken - after all, one of the main reasons she decided to live in LA was to be near her mum," The Sun reported.

"Because of her age, Doria obviously has to be careful and Meghan and Harry are sticking rigidly to all formal guidelines when it comes to coronavirus. They've been WhatsApping and FaceTiming almost daily but obviously it's not the same," the source continued.

The insider went on to say that 38-year-old Meghan will be using a lot of her free time to focus on philanthropic activities given that she and Harry officially stepped down as senior members of the royal family on March 31.

It is believed that the pair is on the lookout for their permanent home in Malibu. It was revealed last month that the couple was planning on renting a sprawling $20 million mansion post the 'Megxit'. The mansion boasts of eight-bedroom, 10-bathroom property and costs around $15,950 a night. The Daily Mail reports that the couple is very keen to sample Malibu before making any decisions regarding where they plan to live.

According to a former royal butler, Paul Burrell, Harry's late mother Princess Diana had been planning to move to the sprawling Malibu home before her death to avoid being under the constant scrutiny of the British press. Malibu's residents include the likes of Cindy Crawford, Courteney Cox, Leonardo DiCaprio, Steven Spielberg and Patrick Dempsey.

We had previously reported that  Harry and Meghan flew to LA by a private jet before POTUS Donald Trump shut the borders to the USA. Meghan, 38, has a large support system in LA that includes her mother, Doria Ragland, who is a social worker and a yoga instructor.

Meghan has many friends too, some of whom had reportedly visited her while she was staying at Vancouver Island. A friend in their circle had previously shared that the couple was on the lookout for homes and had been "looking at houses in LA".

Another source had revealed, "Harry is looking straight ahead at his future with his family... They will be spending time in California... He's not looking back," the insider added, as per The Sun. It is also believed that Harry and Meghan moved to LA as they want to be close to "their new team of Hollywood agents and PRs".

Meghan also completed her first post-royal life job: narrating a Disney documentary about elephants. The film follows an elephant family on a 1,000-mile (1,600km) journey across the Kalahari Desert. Harry and Meghan shocked the world in January by announcing that they were quitting as senior royals, relinquishing official duties and seeking financial independence.
