Meghan Markle is of the opinion that she and Prince Harry are being 'picked on' and the restrictions placed on them are 'payback' for wanting to be independent. She has apparently told this to her close friends.

Meghan had complained to her inner circle just last week about the Queen banning the couple from using the word 'royal' in their 'branding'. Meghan later went on to write out a statement that appeared to be complaining about how the palace was treating them differently from other family members.

According to Daily Mail, a friend of Meghan shared, "Meghan said that [she and Harry] were left with no choice but to make a public statement. She said if anyone should feel insulted, it should be them. They never intended to capitalize on the word royal, and to insinuate they were somehow abusing their privileges is absurd."

Harry is currently in Edinburgh for the last round of engagements as a working royal and Meghan will not be meeting him there and instead will meet him in London. "Meghan is going straight to London, not Edinburgh because that's Harry's thing. She said she and Harry will continue to rise above jealousy and pettiness and focus on the good they are creating and on being the best parents to Archie," the friend revealed.

The friend added, "she said she will continue to champion Harry because out of everyone, he has the most integrity and the most loyalty."

Meghan also thinks that the Queen was under a lot of pressure to make those demands about the use of title and brand name as Harry is the Queen's favorite and no one else can deal with it.

We had previously reported that the couple also shared an 'update' on their personal website where they claimed that the Queen had no 'jurisdiction' over the word 'royal' and had said that the monarch and government could not prevent them from using the word while abroad.

The statement also seemingly referred to other royals including Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Princess Beatrice, and Princess Eugenie. They went on to remind people that Harry remains sixth in line to the throne and an HRH by birth.
