Meghan Markle's sister Samantha blames her for Sussexes' decision to quit royal life: 'It was all Meghan's idea'
Meghan Markle's half-sister Samantha has blamed the duchess for the couple's decision to step back from being senior members of the British royal family. In a conversation with ITV's This Morning, Samantha claimed Prince Harry and Meghan's bombshell decision to step back from royal duties and move to Canada would have definitely been made by Meghan and not her husband.
The Florida resident said quitting as senior royals after just 20 months of marriage was a "gross breach of duty" towards the Queen.
"Prince Harry and Meghan have quite a bit of apologizing to do," she said. "We aren't talking about teenagers, we are talking about adults who knew what they were doing and in regards to my father it was so incredibly wrong and shocking."
According to her, Meghan had adopted a "contrived British accent" as she initially enjoyed the attention of being a royal. However, she wanted out as soon as she was criticized for her "spending."
Samantha denied that criticisms of Meghan stemmed from racism. According to her, such claims were "a misplacement of blame to avoid accountability."
Furthermore, she said Meghan's lawsuit against a British newspaper was "ludicrous," and that the "truth" will come out if the case gets to the High Court.
Samantha then said it was mostly her half-sister who would have made the final decision to quit as senior royals.
"From my perception, I feel that she [Meghan] did enjoy it when there was the fab four and the photographs of her hair blowing in the wind and the smiling and the contrived British accent," she said. "But when the public state to criticize the behavior and expenditure the tune changed and it became a bit more attribution error, avoiding accountability, flipping the script, and it’s quite hurtful I've never seen anything that was racist in nature so it seems a misplacement of blame to avoid accountability."
"I just thought it was a gross breach of duty or honor and confidence that was placed on her," she added.
