Meghan Markle has been at the peak of internet criticism and media controversy ever since the shocking news about her $6,90,000 earrings surfaced. In 2018, Meghan allegedly received the pair of bejeweled earrings as a gift from Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, who was later found responsible for the murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi. Meghan wore the earrings three years ago at a state dinner in Fiji, just days after Khashoggi's murder.

While her lawyers defended Meghan saying, at that time, she was unaware of any speculation of the Prince's involvement in Khashoggi's murder, she was slammed brutally by British media and trolls alike for her stance. Now, her fans have stepped in to support her and are calling out the "racism" and "misogyny" in her criticism.

The controversies around Meghan Markle

Barely a few days ago, Meghan faced allegations of being "a bully" to royal aides at the Kensington Palace, according to a report by The Times. Barely hours ago, Buckingham Palace announced a full-fledged investigation into the bullying claims against Meghan.

Amid the bullying complaints, a pregnant Meghan Markle is having to undergo the additional stress of controversy around her earrings. Cosmopolitan reported that a representative of the Duchess had released a poignant statement against the allegations.

"The duchess is saddened by this latest attack on her character, particularly as someone who has been the target of bullying herself and is deeply committed to supporting those who have experienced pain and trauma. She is determined to continue her work building compassion around the world and will keep striving to set an example for doing what is right and doing what is good,” read an excerpt from the statement.

It termed the entire controversy around "bullying" as a "calculated smear campaign" for a "defamatory portrayal" of Meghan by British tabloids. It is also being speculated that the barrage of criticism against Meghan, right before she goes on Oprah for a presumably tell-all interview, is particularly problematic.

Twitter defends Meghan, reminds 'Prince Andrew is right there'

As trolls launched scathing scrutiny into Meghan's character on Twitter, her supporters defended her reminding everyone about Prince Andrew's serious allegations of "pedophilia" and connections with sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Meanwhile, it has come to light that Meghan and Prince Harry have "declined" the invitation for Prince Andrew's birthday party, according to a report by Daily Express.

"Breaking: Prince Andrew's sexual assault & Pedophilia investigations are being set aside because Meghan Markle bullying complaint prompts Buckingham Palace investigation," tweeted a user. "British press are obsessed with Meghan Markle when F**KING Prince Andrew is right there," wrote a supporter.

One user tweeted without holding back, "Hey again Buckingham Palace - this is what you call bullying. How come you never opened an investigation into the bullying of Meghan Markle by fellow royals & royal aides? And just another reminder to send Prince Andrew to answer the allegations he raped a sex trafficked girl."

"@ any media around the world who tries to tear down Meghan Markle but are silent when it comes to reporting on their very own prince Andrew #MeghanMarkle #princeandrew #JeffreyEpstein," wrote a user. "How the British press come up with Meghan Markle headlines #meghanmarkle," a user slammed Meghan's critics with a hilarious video.
